I heard recently that Shoney’s had to close a lot of their restaurants, so it’s lucky that this one survived. I was heading down to Florida today and this was right on the way, so I decided to pay it a visit.

Prior to this, I hadn’t been at a Shoney’s for nearly 9 years, and I didn’t remember what it was like very well, so I was coming in with a fresh perspective. I found it enjoyable. Is it the best buffet? No. Does it have the most selection? No. Does the food taste absolutely amazing? No, not in my opinion. However, it is a good restaurant in its own right. I appreciate that it has nearly all the basics of American cuisine, and then some. It’s not trying to be a little bit of everything like Golden Corral; it focuses specifically on American fare, and it does that fairly well.

I would also like to mention that the staff are some of the nicest and friendliest I’ve seen at a restaurant in a while. They were great to talk to and very helpful. Overall, Shoney’s feels very homely and down-to-earth, and I appreciate that. I hope this location is able to survive the shutdowns.

The waitress were nice although we was seated at a booth with food crumbs still on it, the eggs had a weird taste like powdered eggs, the white gravy was watery and lacked flavor, some fried swai fish tasted salty, alot of the food appeared dry from sitting out too long. I was so excited to go to Shoneys since I haven’t had their food that I loved in years but I left very disappointed

Came in for nostalgia and hungry from long trip. Quick eat to get back on road. Came in with 3 sons and did hot bar. Was upgraded from old days. $18 had steak whole catfish fried shrimp fried chicken and salad bar. No meatloaf tonight. Diner food expectations. Server was nice. Everyone ate what they wanted and got back on the road.

The food was fresh, all the employees and the manager are all very polite. Love how clean every thing was, the food was excellent. Server was great as well, very polite . Hats off to yall , the business is being run great . I loved the big selection of Ty babies collection. They write a bible verse daily and that’s amazing. Would definitely recommend Shoneys to anyone, looking for great food in a clean place .

Our table was sticky and nssty. The floors weren’t swept. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable, especially after hearing the waitress talk to some of the guests, saying that they don’t welcome outsiders. I didn’t know whether to order from a sticky menu or just get up and grab a plate. The waitress wasn’t helpful at all. There were no choices of food either. The food wasn’t hot. I felt rushed to leave, and we barely got two full plates of food. The price was kind of high as well, but I paid and left a good tip. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I have always loved Shoney’s but sadly there are very few left around. The all-you-can-eat breakfast bar is still good. They have a nice selection of items to choose from…hashbrown casserole, corned beef hash, fried bologna plus all your other favorite breakfast items. I also love that they have the salad bar set up for breakfast too. And the section of fruit was also good…

I felt like some salad for lunch. And since I haven’t been to a Shoney’s in forever I decided to read the reviews. Most everybody said they were expecting worse and got better so I thought well what the heck. They weren’t real busy I got there around 11:30 a.m.. some girls up front were yakking I didn’t even know they worked there so I turned to someone I said well do I see myself and at that time both woman stood up one came over to me and set me at a booth. Well the Springs were shot felt like I was sitting on the floor when I stood up. The waitress came over asked what I wanted if I wanted to order from the menu or get the bar while I was in the mood for a salad so I said I’ll get the bar. They had hot food as well, some ribs, fried chicken, hamburgers and other assorted items. I took some salad piece of fried chicken some ribs. Actually after a few bites of the salad I stopped because it was a little bitter. The Fried Chicken wasn’t bad a little too moist for my liking. A couple of the ribs were absolutely delicious a lot of meat not a lot of fat. The mashed potatoes I took were definitely instant they tasted like crap. And after that I decided to have some dessert all they had was fruit. I thought they’d have something Jello or some cheap cake or something but those were my choices. Wasn’t too bad of course now when she brought me my check I was really surprised. $16.99. That’s a lot of money for that crap. But it was my bad for not asking how much it was and not looking at the regular menu. When I go back? For breakfast maybe.

Shoney’s was a staple of my childhood in the 90s. They are few and far between these days and I do not currently live near one, so when I am close to a Shoney’s location, I often like to check it out. We found ourselves out this way on a Sunday afternoon and despite the mixed reviews, thought we would give it a shot. It was busy but the food and service were both excellent. The restaurant was also very clean. No complaints!

I could’ve been more happily surprised at the quality of the food on a buffet. Everything I had was great. Staff was nice, bathroom was clean. Wife had multiple veggie options. Definitely worth stopping and grabbing a good deal.
