Still think they have the best garlic chicken. I normally don’t order anything else on their menu except for the garlic chicken regular plate. The plate is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it and the portions are pretty big. The skin is so crispy and the garlic is out of this world.
Lots of parking near other establishments. Lots of table to dine on and the restrooms are located in a hallway a few stores down to the left side if you’re facing Sugoi’s front doors.

One of the best Garlic Chicken places!!! You can order to go or there’s an eating area that has open seating tables and cleaning wipes so you can clean up afterwards. The staff is friendly and service is fast. I love this place!

We had a really good experience at Sugoi. We shared a garlic chicken bento box and a side of Mac salad. The garlic chicken and Mac salad were the stars of the show. The teri beef that came with it was average at best. The hotdog was a hotdog but solid. Would just get the garlic chicken plate lunch next time! Definitely would go back.

We’ve had sugoi’s garlic chicken before, which everyone knows about, and felt like trying some other goodies. Ended up getting a lot of food, more than we could finish!
They have a special “value” item each day of the week and we got the Saturday item Sugoi wrap (about $3 less than regular price) with Portuguese sausage and then with spam and both had a good portion of those meats. Those wraps were HUGE!
We also ordered the yakisoba noodles with teri beef and only ate half! I chose something lighter with the oriental salad and garlic ahi and received a massive serving of chopped lettuce topped with colorful garnishes. (the garlic ahi has the same garlic sauce as their chicken)
Overall we were impressed with the amount of food and liked the variety of options from breakfast-y to local to lighter healthy.

Been coming here to this Kalihi gem for years, iykyk Known for their Massive plate lunches, thus the Japanese name “Sugoi” Located in the City Square Shopping Center, this place is known for their Garlic Fried Chicken, Hamburger Steak and customizable bentos. Prices are a bit high but you always get what you pay for.
Daily specials are deals too. Mini plates these days are perfect for a weekday lunch. If youre hungry for a local style plate lunch that will fill you up, this is the place 5 stars

Our review on sugoi catering. This is a local eatery famous for their garlic chicken Bento.
They are located in City Square in kapalama. You get a lot for your money over there. And it is counter service and you sit and eat at a table there is no service. This is a local landmark. I will be back. Good bang for your buck. Thank you Wes from Hawaii. Mililani Hawaii 2025

Super dooper ono regular or spicy GARLIC CHICKEN! My gosh, this is thee best place if you’re craving this or any local style plate or bento! Definitely one of Hawaii’s favorite place for lunch or to cater from. Pricier than I remember but that’s inflation so it can’t be helped. Worth every penny though with their generous portion and tasty food. Highly recommended!

This location was packed during lunch, however the ordering line moved quickly, order was taken by a friendly cashier and the food came out fast. I ordered 2 regular mochiko chicken plates and one mini mochiko chicken plate; all with fried rice and mac salad. The portions are huge and delicious. I highly recommend eating here.

Used to be my fav Garlic Chix place until a few days ago. Ordered 2 mini GC/Teri Beef Bentos but the 2 small pieces of chix was missing a lot of flavor and seemed like it was reheated/fried and the Teri Beef slice was just ok. And the rice didn’t seem fresh. Maybe it was just a bad day…even the cashier

The food is absolutely delicious here. I always get the ahi loco moco with gravy on the side. The customer service is quick and friendly. They have amazing options of different types of delicious food. I usually only come here for the ahi loco moco. It’s my absolute favorite plate lunch I have ever tried. The ahi is fried to perfection. It’s packed full of flavor and the gravy takes it to another level. It also comes with a scoop of Mac salad or tossed salad. The prices are also very affordable with the amount of food you get. Overall great place to get delicious affordable food. The ambiance is warm and friendly.
