Weekend getaway to Austin, went here for dinner.

Saw good reviews, decided to try it out, so made reservations. As we were walking by the day before our reservation, we went in to just check it out. Talked to the host, asked if we could arrange to sit at the bar the next day, they said no problem. When we actually went the next day, as we walked in, the same person said “Hi Bill, welcome back” and led us to our bar seats which had a reserved card with our name on it…nice!

Ambience – very nice upscale setting, coat and tie down to casual dress both fit in.

Staff and service – lots of very efficient people taking care of you. The bartender “Holly” was quite entertaining, would go down the conversation road if you wanted, or would leave you alone also, but always kept an eye on you to make sure you didn’t need anything.

Drinks – ordered a classic daiquiri and an old fashioned, both excellent. My wife said she likes the cherries in an old fashioned…Holly gave her 4!

Food – Since it is an Italian steak house, we ordered a steak, pasta, and a side of vegetables. We always split everything between two of us, and wanted a steak, but they can be quite large here, even if splitting. A ribeye was 22 ounces, more than what we wanted, so we wound up ordering the smaller barrel cut 10oz filet instead. For the pasta we ordered the special, “Penne alla Vodka” with garlic, shallots, vodka, cream, grana padano and basil. For our side vegetable we had the charred broccolini. While we were waiting on our food, they gave us their signature bread, an outstanding light, puffy yeast style roll…very very good! The steak was perfectly cooked, the pasta outstanding, and the vegetables very good.

A very good experience. The steaks can be pricey depending on what you order, with prices ranging from $42 for a 10oz flatiron, all the way up to 36oz Tomahawk Ribeye for $250. But whatever you order, the experience, service, and food quality is well worth it.

Would I go there again…absolutely!

Would I recommend…most definitely!

We went to Deans to celebrate our anniversary as we were visiting Austin, Texas. This place is a great steakhouse in the JW Mariott in downtown Austin. The hostess welcomed us with a friendly smile. We started dinner with a truffle honey Buratta. Their bread was out of this world and an experience in itself. We ordered the aged ribeye 22oz for dinner. We also ordered the mushrooms with Marsala sauce side. We celebrated with a crème brûlée which was on the house. All in all a great dinner. The service by our waiter was amazing. There was someone else that was trying to get us out. She came by and kept checking and wanted to clear out the dishes while we were still finishing dinner. We had to tell her that we were still working on it. I don’t like when that happens. But I have to say our waiter serviced us well. If you are in downtown Austin, do check it out.
This place was full the day before thanksgiving and we reserved the last opening at 5:15 pm, so make a reservation

Classic steakhouse experience. The filet was cooked perfectly—tender, flavorful, and finished with a rich butter topping. The lobster tail was sweet and juicy, and the Caesar salad and warm bread were a great start to the meal. Dessert was smooth, light, and a perfect finish.

Special shoutout to Ayhan, my server—professional, attentive, and made the entire experience feel seamless. Great service all around. Would absolutely return.

Incredible meal. If you’re going to have a filet in Austin, this is the place. Everything was incredible from the fresh and perfectly executed Parkerhouse rolls to the buttery and expertly prepared filet. The homemade pasta is a delight and the Yukon potatoes are to die for.

A meal isn’t just the food though – it’s the service. Lexi was exceptional. She made our meal an absolutely flawless experience from the moment we arrived. She was attentive without hovering. Offered suggestions without being overbearing. She is exactly who you want when you go out for a special dinner.

We’re visiting from Florida on a business trip, and this was our first time trying this restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Our server, Ariana, made the experience even better. She was friendly, attentive, and always on top of everything. Her recommendations were spot-on and truly elevated our meal. Ariana went above and beyond, and we couldn’t be more impressed. Highly recommend!

We’re visiting from California on a business trip and have eaten here five times already — that should say it all! The food is consistently incredible, fresh, and full of flavor. Ayhan has been an amazing server — friendly, attentive, and always on top of everything. Every server we’ve had has gone above and beyond, which makes every visit just as good as the last. The service and food together keep us coming back every time we’re in town! Attached some pictures of the couple of times we have been there!

Wanted to share another experience we had after this review as well but wouldn’t let me make a separate review!!

We came back again (visit #6!) and had another amazing experience. This time Key and Deon took care of us, and they were absolutely outstanding — super attentive, friendly, and somehow remembered all four of our names the entire night. That level of personal service really stood out. Between the consistently great food and the top-notch staff like Ayhan, Key, and Deon, this place has become our go-to every time we’re in town.

We had a wonderful experience with Ayhan, he walked us through the menu and even gave amazing recommendations! 10/10 service from Ayhan. We ended us getting the Texas steak cut, the waygu pasta, and Rockefeller oysters.

Dean’s Italian Steakhouse popped up multiple times on our list of places to try, and it definitely lived up to the hype. My coworker and I managed to snag a high-top in the bar since all of the reservations were taken, and I’m so glad we did!

Our server was friendly, attentive, and gave excellent descriptions of the dishes we were curious about.

We started with the Honey Burrata—absolutely amazing and a must-order. For entrées, I had the Wagyu Bolognese, which was perfectly rich and flavorful, while my coworker went with the Brisket Gnocchi. I snagged a few bites of both the gnocchi and brisket—each one was to die for!

Dessert was just as impressive. Though we were tempted to order one of everything, we decided on the Limoncello Pie. Think of it as an elevated lemon meringue—beautifully presented and absolutely delectable.

Everything from the service to the atmosphere to the food was top-notch. The steaks and wedge salads at nearby tables looked spectacular too, so I’ll definitely be back to try those next time.
If you haven’t been yet, make a reservation early—and don’t skip the burrata!

We had an amazing dinner! This was our 2nd time and it was just as good as the 1st time.
We had a little bit of everything.
Great wine selections.
We had short rib gnocchi, salmon wellington, filet with blue cheese crust. We tried 3 desserts. Our favorite was the bread pudding. Our server TJ was fantastic. He was the icing on top of our experience. We will be going back soon. Our new favorite in DT Austin!
