Reviews
Saw good reviews, decided to try it out, so made reservations. As we were walking by the day before our reservation, we went in to just check it out. Talked to the host, asked if we could arrange to sit at the bar the next day, they said no problem. When we actually went the next day, as we walked in, the same person said “Hi Bill, welcome back” and led us to our bar seats which had a reserved card with our name on it…nice!
Ambience – very nice upscale setting, coat and tie down to casual dress both fit in.
Staff and service – lots of very efficient people taking care of you. The bartender “Holly” was quite entertaining, would go down the conversation road if you wanted, or would leave you alone also, but always kept an eye on you to make sure you didn’t need anything.
Drinks – ordered a classic daiquiri and an old fashioned, both excellent. My wife said she likes the cherries in an old fashioned…Holly gave her 4!
Food – Since it is an Italian steak house, we ordered a steak, pasta, and a side of vegetables. We always split everything between two of us, and wanted a steak, but they can be quite large here, even if splitting. A ribeye was 22 ounces, more than what we wanted, so we wound up ordering the smaller barrel cut 10oz filet instead. For the pasta we ordered the special, “Penne alla Vodka” with garlic, shallots, vodka, cream, grana padano and basil. For our side vegetable we had the charred broccolini. While we were waiting on our food, they gave us their signature bread, an outstanding light, puffy yeast style roll…very very good! The steak was perfectly cooked, the pasta outstanding, and the vegetables very good.
A very good experience. The steaks can be pricey depending on what you order, with prices ranging from $42 for a 10oz flatiron, all the way up to 36oz Tomahawk Ribeye for $250. But whatever you order, the experience, service, and food quality is well worth it.
Would I go there again…absolutely!
Would I recommend…most definitely!
This place was full the day before thanksgiving and we reserved the last opening at 5:15 pm, so make a reservation
Special shoutout to Ayhan, my server—professional, attentive, and made the entire experience feel seamless. Great service all around. Would absolutely return.
A meal isn’t just the food though – it’s the service. Lexi was exceptional. She made our meal an absolutely flawless experience from the moment we arrived. She was attentive without hovering. Offered suggestions without being overbearing. She is exactly who you want when you go out for a special dinner.
Wanted to share another experience we had after this review as well but wouldn’t let me make a separate review!!
We came back again (visit #6!) and had another amazing experience. This time Key and Deon took care of us, and they were absolutely outstanding — super attentive, friendly, and somehow remembered all four of our names the entire night. That level of personal service really stood out. Between the consistently great food and the top-notch staff like Ayhan, Key, and Deon, this place has become our go-to every time we’re in town.
Our server was friendly, attentive, and gave excellent descriptions of the dishes we were curious about.
We started with the Honey Burrata—absolutely amazing and a must-order. For entrées, I had the Wagyu Bolognese, which was perfectly rich and flavorful, while my coworker went with the Brisket Gnocchi. I snagged a few bites of both the gnocchi and brisket—each one was to die for!
Dessert was just as impressive. Though we were tempted to order one of everything, we decided on the Limoncello Pie. Think of it as an elevated lemon meringue—beautifully presented and absolutely delectable.
Everything from the service to the atmosphere to the food was top-notch. The steaks and wedge salads at nearby tables looked spectacular too, so I’ll definitely be back to try those next time.
If you haven’t been yet, make a reservation early—and don’t skip the burrata!
We had a little bit of everything.
Great wine selections.
We had short rib gnocchi, salmon wellington, filet with blue cheese crust. We tried 3 desserts. Our favorite was the bread pudding. Our server TJ was fantastic. He was the icing on top of our experience. We will be going back soon. Our new favorite in DT Austin!
