We were not aware of the restaurant’s closing time, so we specifically asked the front desk greeter if the bar was still open and were told yes. Once inside, staff members made direct eye contact and chose not to acknowledge or assist us. As we walked to the bar to seat ourselves, comments such as “quite late, aren’t you” were made within earshot.
We sat for approximately 10 minutes without any acknowledgment or service before leaving. Afterward, we learned that we had arrived approximately 15 minutes prior to closing. If the establishment was unwilling to serve guests during that time, that expectation should have been clearly and professionally communicated at the door.
Instead, this interaction reflected a breakdown in management oversight, staff training, and guest communication. For a restaurant that markets itself as award-winning and is associated with an otherwise excellent golf course, this level of service is inconsistent with that reputation.
