I recently had the pleasure of dining at Savoy’s South Indian Kitchen, and it was a truly fantastic experience! We indulged in a variety of dishes: the cheese dosa, masala dosa, mysore masala dosa, gobi Manchurian, and milagu rasam. Each dish was bursting with flavor and authenticity, showcasing the rich culinary traditions of South India. The dosas were perfectly crispy and the fillings were generous, while the gobi Manchurian had a deliciously crispy texture and the right amount of spices. The milagu rasam was comforting and refreshing, a perfect complement to the meal.

The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served, making it a great spot for anyone looking for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. The restaurant itself is clean and well-kept, which further enhances the overall dining experience. Additionally, the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our visit.

Overall, I highly recommend Savoy’s South Indian Kitchen for anyone looking to enjoy some excellent South Indian food.

We had a variety of stuff on our table from Mango Fish, to Chicken Biryani, to Chicken Chettinadu, Neer Dosa, Appam, Parotha, Vegetable Dosa et al.

The taste is wonderful and unique to the respective cuisine, we all loved it.

Portion size was tad disappointing for the curries.

But overall a wonderful variety food experience. For a even elevated dining experience would have loved an updated upholstery and interiors.

Looking forward to visit again to try other things in the menu.

The food was excellent and it specializes in South Indian Foods it also has some Hakka Items too. But the south Indian foods are what you should order when you go. Savoys can accommodate large groups too. Please ask for Amanpreet, she was amazing.

We are a Punjabi family and this was our first time trying South Indian food at Savoy Restaurant. Honestly, we were a little hesitant at first because we’re so used to Punjabi cuisine. But wow — we were blown away!

The taste, freshness, and overall food quality were outstanding. Every dish was full of authentic flavor and perfectly prepared. The dosas were crispy, the sambhar was rich and flavorful, and everything tasted fresh and high quality.

To be very honest, the taste and quality here are better than most Punjabi restaurants around. You can really tell they care about what they serve.

Highly recommend Savoy Restaurant to anyone — even if you’re trying South Indian food for the first time like we did. We’ll definitely be coming back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of the best South Indian restaurants in Edmonton! The food is absolutely authentic and full of flavor. The dosas were perfectly crispy, the sambar was rich and comforting, and the chutneys tasted fresh and homemade. You can really tell a lot of care goes into the preparation.
The service was warm and welcoming, and the staff was happy to help with recommendations. Portions were generous and prices felt very reasonable for the quality. The ambiance was simple and clean, which added to the overall pleasant experience.
Highly recommended if you’re craving real South Indian food — I’ll definitely be coming back!

Usually savoy is the best place for dosa. But i want to try their kerala parantha so i ordered 12 kerala parantha and 2 veg currey . One is kadai paneer and other one is mashroom special. I was not satisfied with the quantity i received for both the curries. The currey quantity was little boxes and they charge me around $17 for each currey. I dont think its even regular size of any currey. So disappointed. I almost spend $80 for these items.

I had a fantastic time at Savoy’s South Indian Kitchen — it’s one of Edmonton’s best places for crispy, flavourful dosa and authentic South Indian cuisine. The menu is delightfully diverse with classic dosas like Mysore masala and onion masala, all served with excellent chutneys and sambar that bring out those rich, traditional flavours. The batter is naturally fermented and made fresh daily, which really shows in the texture and taste of the dosas.
Many diners rave about dishes like the chicken masala dosa, calling it one of the best in the city, and the restaurant has a solid overall rating from locals who appreciate the generous portions and friendly atmosphere.
Service and speed can vary — some visits are smooth and welcoming, while a few reviews mention slower service — but the quality of food keeps people coming back.
If you love South Indian food and want great dosa in Edmonton, Savoy’s is definitely worth checking out.

We arrived at 8:25 p.m. with our children and their server, Muskan, She was initially unimpressed and took an unusually long time to take our order. To top it off, she left spoons on the table in an unprofessional manner.
We ordered dosa and idli, but she informed us that they stopped making idli because the cooks were too tired.
After 40 minutes, we asked for water from another server, who promptly sent Muskan. She arrived with a jug and I asked her if she can get glasses for kids but she stood firm there and displayed an arrogant attitude, saying she’d bring glasses. When we asked if she is overtired we can leave , but she don’t have to give us attitude. She told me she is not giving any attitude but I am talking back to her . I only asked for cups for kids .

We were about to leave either Manager or owner came and requested us to sit back but we just can’t. I feel bad for cooks and owner that they had to bear this loss just because of poor customer service.

We’d never had any complaints about this restaurant before, but this was the most unpleasant experience we’ve ever had. Our hungry children forced us to leave after 45 minutes because we couldn’t tolerate the disrespect. We would have given the restaurant a negative or zero rating. This experience was unacceptable.
