Great atmosphere for family friendly soul food. Even had a bar area for the adult vibe.
The setup is a little unique where you go through buffet line to select certain parts of your order.
The happy hour menu was a nice touch. The happy hour food was delicious. The buffet food was good. The portions from the buffet were a nice size. When I packed my leftovers, my containers were full especially for my side dishes. The happy hour drink was good as well.

First time trying this place and the food was great!!!! I loved the Smothered turkey leg it was flavorful and tender fall off the bone and came out hot!! I love it!!! The Mac and cheese was good and came out hot! the red beans and rice was delicious very flavorful! The oxtails were tender and flavorful and also came out hot not cold or like warm! The greens were good! The staff was very friendly… it was a great experience.

We went here on a Sunday. Which probably was a bad idea. It was really crowded. We waited in line for 25 minutes! It was my first time there. Be aware that the TV menus do not work as you’re standing in line to choose what you want. I say that because as soon as you get to the food dishes there is a guy that needs to take your food order for your entire meal. I didn’t know this so it took me a lil longer holding up the line to select my meal. I gave it a 1 star because my waitress didn’t I didn’t see until our meal was about complete. Plus I had to get up to go to the bar and figure out how to get my lemonade . The went not organized at all. There were a lot of elderly in that long line as well I felt terrible for them with the wait. The food was subpar nothing to write home about. It was typical soul food ♀️. Nothing really stood out . The restaurant was clean that’s a plus. The cashier was a nice lady with the black block glasses on. The guy taking the orders looked like he didn’t wanna be there . Needless to say I won’t be rushing back, but I will come back just to see if that was a fluke because it was a crowded Sunday . I wrote another review then.

That turkey leg will mos def get you two meals. Nice to go containers too!!!! Glad I went at 1 PM on a Thursday. Most bad reviews I’ve seen are because the line was soooo long, like 45 mins to an hour long. Like others said, food was a bit salty but gets you the soul food flavors you want. The apps for happy hour honestly look better than the full menu, but the bar is TINY !!!!! Like 6 seats tiny. I highly advise you go on off peak hours.

This place is a gem with exceptionally good soul food and service. As an impatient person I hate waiting at all but this was soo worth it. The food was just amazing, if you’re looking for soul food in Metro Detroit this is it. I even had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was a big part of the experience. He’s in the kitchen ,on the floor , and making sure you enjoy

First and Foremost let me say that Lauren was amazing. She explained the menu because this was my first time here. She had great suggestions while I was deciding what to order. My shrimp, wings, potatoes and drink were all delicious. 10/10

YOOOOO! Get Here! Yes, right here, right now. You been looking for GoodT soul food this is the place. Friendly service from the second you walk in until you leave. We had grits and oxtail, soooo good, grits were perfect and the oxtail was season and fall off the bone. We also had the smothered pork chops and that gravy was made by hands the ancestors guided!. This the place you been looking for.

Me and my friends came out for an afternoon of lunch. We had a great experience set in one of their further booths. The food came out piping hot and the service was above average Lisa was our server. It was off the chain. This Sister knew everything on the menu and recommend a few choices for us. Thank you so much. We’re definitely coming back. Great food great service. Kudos to Lily Maes for having a real Soul food Restaurant with great service no complaints here we will be back.
