Came to eat w/my friend for the Sunday brunch buffet our server was Salvador very nice friendly kind and gave great suggestions he brought complimentary pancakes yummy the buffet had a great selection the taste was on point and the decor soo beautiful. The restaurant was kept very clean for being a buffet everything was stocked fresh and delish. Outstanding Experience at El Torito – West Covina
Today I had a truly special lunch at El Torito (3133 E Garvey Ave N, West Covina, CA 91791), invited by my best friend forever, Lourdes Duque Baron, before she travels to the Philippines with her husband, Dr. Robinson Baron, for their medical mission ❤️.
As always, the food was absolutely delicious —consistently fresh, flavorful, and comforting. But what truly made today’s visit exceptional was the outstanding service. Our waiter, Maria Trujillo, went above and beyond. She is a hard-working, attentive, and genuinely caring professional, always checking on us and making sure everything was perfect ✨. Service like hers makes all the difference.
This El Torito location is one of my friend’s favorite places for meetings and celebrations, and it’s easy to see why. Great food, welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service every single time ️.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a reliable, delicious, and friendly dining experience. And of course… we will definitely be back very soon!

We celebrated two days with a group of 10. Due to other much larger groups, our wait was 1hr. Once we got seated, Roberto (our waiter) took great care of us along with his asst, Jose. They were very attentive, professional & friendly. We ordered two of the large family platter fajitas. Delicious & had plenty of food for our entire group. The restaurant allowed us to bring our own cake (from @ElManaPastryShop) & Roberto & Jose made sure we had freshly brewed coffee. Thanks for taking care of our family. We’ll come back for their great service! Gracias Roberto y Jose!

I had a fantastic experience at El Torito in Covina. Richardo was a great server. My family and I had noticed he was the only server present and regardless he did a great job. He was quick, respectful, and kind. I appreciate him for making the experience sweeter. Food was great and the margaritas were delightful!

Came here after a school event and Pedro R. was our server. From the moment we walked in, atmosphere was amazing service was excellent and the whole team was amazing!! Food, drinks and dessert were fantastic. Thank you team!!!

The brunch food itself was decent, but the overall experience was uncomfortable and disappointing due to the service.
First, the friendliness of the staff was questionable. The woman making tacos seemed visibly irritated. She would grab your empty plate, make your tacos and then stand at the end of the table and expect you to walk over and reach across all the meats to retrieve your plate forcing people in line to move. It was awkward and unnecessary, especially since she could’ve easily handed the plate back where she originally took it.
Second, our server wasn’t very attentive. This was Super Bowl weekend and it wasn’t particularly busy, yet it felt like the staff simply didn’t want to be there. Basic check-ins and service were lacking.
The worst part, however, was the mariachi. He performed while wearing sunglasses and became extremely demanding when it came time to pay. Before we even had a chance to reach for our wallets, he was aggressively asking for cash. It felt like an intentional pressure tactic to rush people into handing over money without asking questions, which left a very uncomfortable impression.
Overall, the food may be okay, but the service and atmosphere really take away from the experience. I don’t see myself returning.

This place is big and looks very interesting inside! We came on taco Tuesday for $3 each and my fav side was the corn cake. We ordered fajitas and omg super good! But the salsa from the complimentary chips it’s a 10/10. Our server was great! Really good time over here!

Loved what we ordered: Mexican grilled chicken salad, the combo fajitas and a kids chicken fajitas! Kids eat free after 3 that was a lovely surprise but what took this meal over the top was the exceptional service. Our server Pedro R. Rolled out the hospitality. Before my husband and son finished the last drop of there beverage ñ, he was ready with another! He was attentive to all of the tables he was serving and for a Sunday evening it was busy! We will definitely be back for the yummy food and hope Pedro can be our server again!

Arriving to El Torito there was one person in front of my party. The wait was about 5 mins. However there was a some confussion with seating and 2 parties jumped ahead of my group. But this is not what the review is about. This review is about Maria T. Who remedied the situation when we mentioned the confussion. She gave us a choice of where to sit and immediately came back with chips and salsa. I asked if we could order and she said sure, she would pass our order to the server at the bar. But Maria did not pass the order she went above and beyond and put the order in herself and brought our food and drinks out. She was very attentive throughout the meal. She took my experience from 1 star to 10 stars! If you have the pleasure of being served by Maria T. leave her a generous tip and an amazing review. I can’t rave enough about her. Thank you Maria T. !
