Very fast, affordable, and friendly! We met Mr. Dolly, who gave us recommendations (the famous cheesesteak was confirmed by us to be “fantastic and delicious” with Jalepeños and banana peppers). Very good food, but the tables could use a thorough scrubbing (edges/sides – +other minor but noticeable details, like messy ketchup bottles). We’d definitely return. With friendly service and welcoming atmosphere, this is a great spot for diner fare!

A diner and great food. Bobbie served me and was spot on. It’s like she could read minds. I asked her what was good. She said I needed the Philly cheesesteak. Funny thing because I tried to get one in Louisville at some place I won’t name but it ends in 33. (Treated so rudely checking in that we left.) But I digress. I sat at the counter since I was by myself and had a nice time laughing with the nice ladies there. There were all hustling and working like a team but Bobbie is the best. The cheesesteak was delicious she read my mind on dipping sauce for onions rings which were cooked the way I like them and my tea glass was always full. Then I had my arm twisted into getting desert. I don’t regret it. Stop in and enjoy this place. Great menu and great service.

As we made our way towards New England we decided to to stop at this quaint diner in Princeton. I’m a sucker for diners and this one did not disappoint.
The food: My wife really enjoyed her bacon burger. I tried it and it was delicious. I got the patty melt and it was ok at best. The onions on it weren’t cooked enough and I couldn’t taste the cheese at all. The patty was a bit over cooked. I would suggest another slice of cheese on top of the patty to make it more of a “melt”. The fries were incredibly and their own seasoned salt on them is a must.
The service was phenomenal!!! Jayden was our server and she was great. Very helpful and very knowledgeable about the menu. The owner, “Mr. Dolly”, really impressed me and abundantly nice. Not only did he try to greet each table (and it was packed) he also took empty plates, made drink refills and did what needed to be done. He also told me about the evolution of the restaurant. Truly inspiring and he must be an absolute pleasure to work for.
The atmosphere is one of pure nostalgia. It takes the classic diner ambiance to a new level.
In conclusion, if you are ever in Princeton, WV. Stop in and enjoy!!!

Home style food. Absolutely delicious!
Gary had eggs, bacon, hash browns, biscuit and gravy. I had a patty melt with seasoned fries. Oh! The Key Lime Lush for dessert, magnificent. Everything was so good. I’m coming back for the meatloaf. Employees were all sweet, even the customers. Such a pleasant atmosphere!

I arrived around 3pm to find the parking lot nearly full on a Thursday—this place gets busy! Most of the crowd were families and couples. The staff, all in red shirts, were attentive and quick to help.
I took a middle aisle booth and ordered the Dolly Philly Cheese Steak (their signature sandwich), swapping fries for onion rings. The waitress made sure I was okay with a small upcharge — thoughtful service. The onion rings were notably fresh with no hint of old grease.
The Philly was excellent: a soft, slightly crunchy bun, loaded with generous, cheesy steak. It made such an impression that a nearby customer commented on how good my sandwich looked! The server joked I’d be compensated.
By the time I finished, the crowd had thinned out. All in all, a comfortable spot with fresh food, friendly service, and a $19.60 total for my meal and tea. Great experience for both groups and solo diners.
I’ll definitely be back to try many other things on the broad menu (and delicious looking desserts)!!

Had the daily special, hotdogs. It is what i was craving coming south from 50+ miles of biking along Greenbrier river trail. Dolly’s Diner hit the spot. hotdogs are easy but it takes perfect everything to hit it out of the ballpark and Dollys did. Toasted bun. Chopped onion. Homemade chili. Fried fried right. Yum. My only regret is not trying the Cherry Delight. Looked amazing. Only negative, Small parking spaces.

Yep. This is the place. It’s a classic style diner and is constantly busy because the food is just that good. We finally found a time when there was no wait for a table, and we are so glad we did. There will pretty much always be a bit of a wait for the food, but it’s worth it. Prices are actually pretty decent, especially considering the quality of the food. We’ll be back for sure.
