Customer service was exceptional, earning a 10/10 with no complaints. The wait time was reasonable, around 10-15 minutes. The atmosphere was beautiful, creating a pleasant dining experience, and the presentation of the dishes was thoughtful.
The beverages were enjoyable, but I found the food somewhat lacking in flavor. However, the sauces were outstanding, receiving a solid 10/10. Overall, there’s a lot of potential here, especially if the food flavors could be improved.

Thanks to our friends for bringing us here on our recent trip to visit them. We literally ordered all the tacos from the menu and thoroughly enjoyed them! Super creative tacos in a vibrant space with great service. Can’t wait to go back to Houston and eat more Velvet Tacos. Please open new locations in San Francisco Bay Area!

I had heard soooooooo much about Velvet tacos that maybe the hype outweighed the food. We got elote queso and the Thai one. The former was really good. We also got the fish and chips taco… the kiddo thought it was great. For me, it could have been better. The shrimp taco was good.
The staff was polite and helpful.

Fusion tacos run the gamut from outstanding to horrible. These are on the outstanding side. I had the combo: 2 tacos (I picked a beef and a shrimp), elote, and drink for $15. The tacos are large and the meal is a very good value. They gave me a sample of velvet cake, which was delicious.

To assume Velvet Taco is Mexican food wouldn’t be fair for Mexican food nor to the work and results these guys put into creating a new segment in what i define as hybrid Mexican inspired food. I was craving Mexican street tacos and googled tacos and this place caught my attention, so I had to give it a shot. Glad I did! It became an instant favorite of mine! Can’t wait to try fish tacos next! I had all three pork tacos and was floored by the originality of the food and how well trained and nice the staff is.

First time trying this spot out. Was in town for a competition. I had been craving “Mexican” tacos.
They didn’t offer them on the menu and I was getting upset, but my buddy asked Arlyn if they had the ingredients to make what I was looking for. She checked and came back and said they could do it.
They came back with my three tacos and I inhaled them and ordered a couple more with a side of red velvet.
Arlyn was amazingly helpful, as was the staff. Get her a raise, lol!

This review is not about the restaurant or the food being provided. It is about the disgusting cheaters that run this location. I went in the week of Christmas and saw a promotion that with the purchase of a $50 gift card you get five free tacos. So with the physical gift card you get you get a separate card that has five little tickets sticking off of it that you can redeem for one free taco at a time. Seems like a very nice value so I purchased it. But knowing promotions like this always have restrictions, I looked everywhere on the little placard that was posted and nowhere did it say there were any restrictions. On the card itself there are no restrictions saying “only participating locations“ or any other restrictions of the sort. I come to find out when I tried to redeem the free taco at a different location that not all locations participate in this promotion. So this company lied and cheated me out of my money. I would beware of going into any restaurant like this that fragrantly lies to their customers just for the sake of taking their money.

Solid location, but they’ve seriously downgraded the nachos by putting them in those tiny saucer containers instead of the regular to-go boxes. I was hoping this location would be better about it than Montrose but it’s the same problem. Either reduce the price, or give people what they paid for.
