I have been hooked on Maxwell House bacon cheeseburgers for a while now, but I just made the mistake of trying their breakfast sandwiches and now I’m hooked on breakfast and lunch. This place is better than your grandmother‘s cooking. I travel for a living I eat at all these little country restaurants around Central Illinois and this is my favorite so far.

We discovered this wonderful place by chance two years ago. We were traveling from Georgia and I desperately needed a restroom, so my husband set out to find a gas station, and that’s how we found Maxwell House. We had dinner there that same day and fell in love with the food and the delicious pies they sell. So, every time we travel to Illinois, a visit here is a must. Of course, today was no exception, but because of the holiday, the grill was closed. However, they were very kind to us and gave us a delicious chili dinner, which we greatly appreciate, and of course, our strawberry and coconut pies.

This place is great! The town is tiny but the café was perfect. Food made from scratch right in front of you. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. It was definitely worth the 30 minute drive!

The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was nice, it was decorated with some older stuff.
The we had was good. The was three in our party one had a hamburger & onion rings, another had a fish sandwich and fries and coconut cream pie, I had catfish potato salad, macaroni salad it was all good. Would Highly recommend.
The only problem was it wasn’t really handicapped accessible you couldn’t really use a walker as one in our party needed to use because of mobility issues.

Drove an hour Monday morning to give this place I’ve heard so much about a shot! Definitely worth the drive. We had a loaded omelet and b&g- both delicious! And got a piece of Cookie Dough Delight, Blackberry, Rubarb and Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie– every piece was excellent! Will be back
