There was complimentary valet. When we got in, it was quite busy so we had to wait a little to speak to hostess.
We went here for birthday dinner, all of our first times. The one complaint is the wait, I made a reservation in advance for 7:30pm and we did not get sat until 8pm. We went for drinks at the bar and there was only 3 bartenders but only one woman was making drinks for the guests that were waiting for their tables so the line sort of took forever? So my husband was already irritable from the wait and the line… usually for these types of restaurants we make reservations to avoid the waiting for a table AND HONESTLY never really had to ever wait for a table when dining at a restaurant of this level, so that was annoying as it was our first.
However… the food was soooo delicious. Appetizers we ordered for the table was jumbo shrimp, coconut shrimp, and charred octopus – all really good choices. BUT the lobster bisque was *chefs kiss.* The coconut shrimp was too sweet for me personally but my guests loved it.
Main course: We got the prime porterhouse with truffle butter which was not only so good, but plenty of steak, I couldn’t even finish it, I could have shared it honestly! Delmonico steak with chimmichuri, someone else got the herb chicken. All dishes were so delicious. Sides we ordered; au gratin potatoes, creamed corn, sautéed mushrooms, Parmesan fries, and the steamed broccoli. The au gratin potatoes were the best out of all of them.
Dessert: I got the salted caramel creme brûlée and I devoured it.
Our server was fantastic, I wish I remembered his name! All table runners and wait staff was so nice, excellent service.
The one thing I did not like was the fact that every entre ordered did not include sides.
The atmosphere was lively, and then came an unforgettable surprise—Mike Shanahan himself walked in! The owner politely asked if we’d mind turning on the college football game, and when we agreed, Mike personally thanked us. For my husband, a lifelong Broncos fan, this was a dream come true.
Even with a celebrity present, the service never wavered. We were treated like VIPs, and the food? Absolutely AMAZING—every bite was perfection. The staff and owner checked in often, making us feel valued throughout the evening.
If you’ve never dined at Shanahan’s, I highly recommend it. I can’t guarantee you’ll meet Mike Shanahan, but I can guarantee you’ll enjoy top-tier service and the best-tasting food in Denver.
We started with the warm bread basket and dozen oysters! Oysters were phenomenal. We were told they come from the east coast which was new for us, but they were all delicious! Escargot was served piping hot with toasted bread.
Next we did salads! The Caesar salad comes with real anchovies and it’s a healthy portion. We did the tomato bruschetta salad, which had perfect and flavorful tomatoes! Super refreshing.
Then for mains we got the cowboy ribeye with the bone in! Cooked to perfection! Fillet was hearty and good! For sides done sleep on the giant onion rings and the hoisin Brussel sprouts! All were a perfect addition to our entrees. They are plenty and shareable (we had enough for our table of 4).
Drinks are worth mentioning… we had wine and mules and bubbly! All were great! Service was attentive and prompt. Staff were helpful with the menu and provided good feedback and recommendations. We will definitely be back when we are in town!
Came here with several colleagues from work, and we were blown away. The service here is impeccable; our waitress was very attentive and gave us great recommendations.
I went with the burger for my main course; not the best burger ever but the portion was massive. My coworker let us try his prime rib and it was so flavorful.
For dessert we had a lemon dish that was super tasty. All the drinks were good and the price is what you would expect from a fine dining establishment (e.g. ~$100 a person.) I highly recommend
