My visits to Pepe’s tacos though not frequent are consistent over a period of some years. To me going to Pepe’s is a way to reward myself for jobs or deeds well done. The food is just that good! Wheelchair access ramps, spacious parking but don’t know yet if antique payphone on the wall really works or just a decorative retro tech accenting underwhelming maroon naugahide, booths. Eat it there, or take it out, you won’t wait long. service is both fast and efficient.

I’ve never actually eaten there in person but I ordered their food from Uber Eats several times. They have had my back for Mexican food in the middle of the night. Things I ate that I thought were good: Al pastor dinner plate, fish tacos, birria taco (the birria sauce has a very good and deep taste), machaca, refried beans, and guacamole.

Only 1 person waiting for food in the restaurant, the place was empty at 11:15 am. We waited over 20 minutes for 2 breakfast burritos that were filled with refried beans, very little meat and it’s like they put 1 egg in the burrito. Salsa Roja was “Tex Mex trash” NOT traditional Roja. The burrito itself was also NOT traditional. Traditional breakfast burrito has eggs, hash browns, chopped jalapeño, Pico De gallo and choice of chorizo or American style sausage Pepe burritos are trash! Burritos was so full of beans it was falling apart. I will never go back and be sure to tell my UFC guys to stay away! Terrible food and service..

I only bought a soda and if I would have known there was a 50 cent charge I would have just paid with cash. The issue is not the 50 cents. It’s that she failed to communicate this charge. Nobody likes hidden fees with their food.

Outstanding restaurant. Great menudo with a mondongo consistency. Clean tripa. Good quesabirrias (Mexican French Dip). Best place to get grub at 6 am. Bathroom clean and spotted a rare pay phone. Don’t mind the parking lot zombies.

I still love this place. However, every time I go it seems like there are new employees and the service is always slow. The Fremont St location has stepped up their game tremendously. The food is always good and the orders are correct more often than not. Busy times are the lunch and dinner rush and Friday nights at 5 am going into Saturday morning.
