Stumbled upon this gem on my way back to Texas I got the torta cubana and it did not disappoint. The bread was nicely toasted and the flavors were well balanced. I feel like sometimes the mustard can be overpowering on a cubana, but not this one! I would definitely come back!

I am very happy this restaurant is here. Saved me from conventionally ordinary airport fare. The food is quite tasty, prepared to order from fresh ingredients. I would say that (if you enjoy this category of food) then don’t hesitate. Rick Bayless has brought cuisine to the airport. All else, such as seating, is conventional airport. This is not a sit-down table service place but serves the need of people who are passing through.

Ordering and payment is done at a kiosk. Service was still friendly and quick. The bar is separate ordering and seating from the eating area. Prices are expected for an airport.

4 stars because it’s not all vegan, but the workaround vegan / vegetarian option is the cauliflower torta with no cheese, pictured here. The service was awesome and being able to sit at a table or eat at the bar is nice.

I used to love Tortas Frontera in Terminal 1 at ORD — it was quick, fresh, and consistently tasty. It used to be one of my go-to airport spots.
Unfortunately, it’s really gone downhill. Service is now slow and disorganized, and I’ve been handed the wrong order more than once. The overall experience just feels careless. There’s a clear lack of attention to detail and respect for customers’ time.
It’s a bummer because this place used to run smoothly and deliver great food. I hope management turns things around, because it used to be one of the better options at O’Hare.

By far the best airport food you can get. I always stop here when I’m in Chicago. Going out of my way to eat here. Bar tenders are always friendly too!! All around great vibe at this place. A welcomed energy on a long travel day

Tortas Frontera uses high-quality ingredients from top local providers of all natural meats and dairy, organic produce, artisan breads, and stone-ground tortillas. When I travel through O’Hare, I look forward to going to Tortas Frontera!

Very good. Def hit this up if you are in the airport. Habanero salsa is super hot! Green salsa with the cilantro torta was amazing. I also like that they do table service even though the shop is so small. They are making an effort with the food, etc and it really shows. Check it out. Two thumbs up from me

We usually don’t go for Mexican food, but because of the tortas we decided to give it a try, and it was Great.
The tortas where amazingly flavorful, and the green salsa din’t fall behind. Highly recommended.
