Smash burgers that were simple and delicious. The tallow fries were well seasoned and had great flavor. They were so busy that our large order took time to come out and had to ask where we were on the orders. Will definitely go again!

Absolutely the best burger in the area. Get the dirty double and you won’t regret it.
Tanner’s is a blessing to Oceanside and all of North County. The lines can sometimes get a little bit long and the parking lot a little unwieldy but it’s so worth it. The first time I went here, I literally came back a few days later because I had to get more of it.
Burger: MUST GET!
It’s so juicy with every bite and it’ll leave you continually speechless over and over again. Burgers are one of my guilty pleasures and Tanner’s just does it right. The single burger is good but I would recommend the dirty double (assuming you can eat that much) because of the meat/cheese ratio as well as the pickles and stuff. If youre getting a single, I guess you can add the pickles without getting the double.
Tallow fries: Get
Cooked in that delicious rendered fat, these are so crispy and a great pairing with the burger. I would say it’s not nearly mind blowing as the burger but still great.
Food: 10/10
Atmosphere: 7/10
Service: 6/10
Value: 8/10

The Long Line was a surprise. The burger was Great.. loved the smash cooking of the patty. The sauce, and bacon was great as well.. the choc shake was made with choc ice cream (SOOOO GOOD!) Also got a Blonde beer, which went down like water..

Hands down the best burger I’ve had in a long time! We stopped by Tanner’s around 11:00 AM and I’m glad we did—within minutes of us arriving, a long line started to form. Both the beef burger and the fries were incredible. Even though it got busy fast and the staff was moving quickly to keep things clean and organized, the quality was top-notch. I will definitely be back for another!

Had lunch there, today. Very busy but very organized, too. Food came out hot & quickly. The choco shake was very smooth. Very thick, too. The large diameter straw was no match for the viscosity. Ended up using a plastic knife to “stab” the shake. Anyway, the shake taste was 10/10. (Very chocolatey.) Then, I saw the Michelin sign posted on the wall. Now, it all made sense.
Smash patties are good, too. Edges are “crispy.” Shared the fries, which were perfect. They had a perfect “tan.”

Delicious burgers and shakes. I was not a fan of the fries but it’s subjective. This place can get packed easily with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Shared parking lot with other businesses. Definitely worth the stop if you are around the area.

I was extremely excited to try this place but I don’t think it deserves a 5 star rating. The burger was too salty, their house sauce had zero flavor. I really do believe that it’s overhyped for what it is.

The food is very good. But there’s no service and the atmosphere is just a beachy place. For the real reason I rated a two is because of the price. While I believe you should pay for good food, we ordered three hamburgers two orders of fries, one soda and a ice cream sandwich, the bill was $100 with tip. Smashburger would be just as good at half the price. After all, it’s just a hamburger. As for atmosphere. There isn’t much to say. It’s just a outdoor venue on picnic tables.
