I absolutely love Imperial! It’s always a hit. This place offers street tacos, hotdogs, elote, tortas, chips, salsa , guac and other menu items. They have good pricing, for my meal and drink I believe it was under $40. Imperials drinks are good, mixed well, balanced and tasty. The food is always fresh and delicious. I ordered the Imperial Sonoran minus bacon, a barbacoa taco and a chicken taco. Absolutely delicious. The drink I ordered was a Una Mas which has tequila, cucumber, cayenne and lime. Staff is super friendly, and depending on what you could there could be a wait. They don’t accept reservations so you may or may not be seated right away, however it is worth the wait. I always recommend Imperial for good drinks and tacos.

What’s there to say? Probably the best tacos in greater Detroit. There are a few more traditional restaurants that may rival and be on the level with Imperial…but they are hard to beat. Don’t forget the nachos and the Sonoran hot dogs ….you’ll never eat a coney again.

Food: I enjoyed the food from here! Lots of flavor on those hot dogs & the cheese with the chips taste soo good! I enjoyed the hotdog with the lime, cilantro, cheese, salsa verde! Very unique type of food combination and it was filling! My friend had the nacho and it was so big, definitely two people can enjoy that one meal, which i love! I also enjoyed the drink I had, it was a strawberry banana margarita but it tasted like a starburst drink! I love that!
Sugguestions: More flavor on the steak for the nachos! The Jalepenos starter should be individually cut up jalapenos and served with the cheese in middle, the whole jalapeno didn’t look so appealing or taste as good.
Service: Very quick with the food and servers are nice!
Atmosphere: Very cute spot, theres a bar with lots of seating and its a spacious place! I didn’t look at the place whole but when you first walk in it would look better as a sport bar!

Came here for my gf’s birthday who is a vegetarian. She picked this place because of the many options for restrictions. She had 3 tacos which she really enjoyed with lots of cocktail and drink options. I believe I had the “Detroit Tart” mixed drink which was recommended by our waiter Nick. My favorite was the bacon-raped hotdog which I heard from friends is “the best hotdog ever”. I will definitely have to come back to this place sometime.

I will say tho, I wish there was a little more smaller private areas. Also, the giant block tables at the front are cool looking. But i wanna sit at my own table. Plus im so far across from who im with I need to yell. It wastes space and feels like a school cafeteria.

We had a great time here, good drinks and tasty nibbles. Our waitress was a true pro, attentive and knowledgeable and always with a smile.

My only complaint is the price. Seemed more like LA prices to me, but my husband disagreed, he said that’s just how much craft drinks cost now, and that the tacos were tasty enough to warrant the $4-5 price tag.

We’ll definitely try this place again!

A hip bar with great food in downtown Ferndale.

We came with a friend before a show after hearing nothing but great things about this place. It did not disappoint.

The atmosphere is a bit cramped and too modern for my taste but the place is nice.

The service was good and the staff were friendly.

The menu is small but everything sounded amazing. We ended up with a do and some tacos and a salsa flight app. Everything was amazing.

The cocktails were really good too.

I can’t wait to come back and try other dogs and maybe a few other things from the menu.

Recommended for the food.

I lived in Ferndale for several years. While Imperial was quite good back in the day, the last few times I went it’s been consistently subpar. Not terrible, but also not a stand out like days past. They are known for their street style tacos and have daily and weekly specials. Imperial used to offer various topping sauces (habenero crema) which tended to enhance the experience. Despite this, the margaritas are still very tasty.

For those unaware peasants, ALL HAIL THE BAKERSFIELD. Upon first bite it commands your presence. It’s complex, yet simple. Flirtatious but coy. A culinary contradiction in which its treasures do not fully form in your face hole until half way through your second one.

Very Ferndale type of atmosphere and style. There is a very large selection of drink types. The chicken nachos were good. Public parking in the rear. No kids or happy hour menus.

This was my first time at Imperial and it was a great place to go to after viewing the Wild Lights at the Zoo with some friends. Finding parking was a little difficult being that it was a Friday night. Since it was my first time there, I didn’t know what to expect…I certainly didn’t expect thick velvety curtains to great me when I walked through the door haha. I almost thought that I had the wrong entrance. My friends were already at a table with some drinks. I just got a coke so I can’t say much about their cocktails, but I will say that I love that they offered Mexican Coca-Cola. I wasn’t sure how the whole menu thing worked but it seemed that everyone was ordering more than one thing so I went with the flow. Our waitress was super nice and very attentive. 12/10 service for sure. It was recommended to be to get the Bakersfield Sonoran and I also got a carne asada taco. Both were absolutely delicious! One thing that I also loved was that they have weekly specials woth not just food but with different cocktails as well! It’s definitely a great place to go to with a small group of friends. So the food was amazing and the staff were super friendly and helpful. It was a little loud there, but I think that’s to be expected on a Friday night in Ferndale. Oh! And one other thing that I thought was cool, they had coat hooks on the outside of both sides of the booth so that coats don’t take up too much space. Such a great idea!
