Left Discovery place right across the street looking for lunch, walked in to an almost empty restaurant (2 tables were occupied) greeted by a very friendly hostess, seated right away, but waited a hot minute for service! Nice server that didn’t write our order down so my sub wasn’t made properly, 2 orders were missing bacon and order of wings never got put in! (they were served after everyone was finished eating, removed from bill without us having to ask which was nice, so we got them to go)
Beers are like warm, even in a chilled glass 🙁 server mentioned, sometimes that end of the beer wall tends to run warm, Very sad excuse especially if it’s something that could be taken care of
Kitchen was running VERY SLOW, it took almost an hour from ordering ?!?! And still an almost empty restaurant so I know for a fact they didn’t have a ton of orders, possibly short staffed which I understand but I’m so sick and tired of paying hundreds of dollars for my family to eat out only for it to suck! Even the child’s small steak sub was so dry he couldn’t eat it.
We didn’t mention any of this to the server because he was polite and sorta trying and normally you’re only met with excuses if you complain and it wasn’t worth ruining his day or mine
The downstairs Duckworth’s need to send some positive vibes to the upstairs kitchen, but we most likely we will not be back

Everything came out quickly, which was a huge plus, and the chicken wings were cooked to absolute perfection—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, just the way wings should be. really good—hearty, flavorful, and just the right amount of tang. The service made the meal even better; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. It’s the kind of place where you can grab a quick bite or just hang out and enjoy good food without any fuss. I’d definitely say it’s worth checking out, whether you’re craving wings, a classic sandwich, or just a casual meal with great service. A really solid spot that hits all the right notes for a laid-back, tasty meal.

Went to Duckworth’s tonight after several locals told me it was a good place to eat.

I sat at the bar (with more TV screens in one room then I think I’ve ever seen, but they were, oddly, not in the least distracting), and ordered a local Charlotte beer (Better Days Pale Ale- delicious, floral, aromatic and crisp).

The staff were wonderful. They were all incredibly attentive, polite, never hovering, but always checked in. They served me quickly, efficiently, and professionally. I was impressed with their overall attitude, attention, and friendliness.

For food I ordered an 8oz center cut sirloin, med-rare. The entrees come with two sides and garlic bread, so I chose tater tots, and a salad with ranch dressing.

The side salad was fresh, cold and crisp. It included red onion slices, which I love. The dressing was very good – a classic, thick and flavorful ranch (not the watery, thin and light flavor kind that some places have).

The tater tots were absolutely fantastic. Golden crispy outside, and soft, almost melt in your mouth inside. They didn’t taste like they were previously frozen, and tasted fresh and delicious. I could have eaten those all night.

The steak, however, was disappointing. The cut of meat was good quality, and the char-grilled style was smoky and flavorful. It was perfectly seasoned. But it wasn’t cooked properly and was totally dry. Now, having grilled steaks and a substantial amount of meat in my life, I know that grilled meats are tricky. They are hard to get right and easy to mess up. A second too long and it’s dry as cardboard. It wasn’t that bad, but as I ordered medium rare, I felt I should have ordered rare instead. The one saving grace to the meat was that it was served with a finger-licking BBQ sauce that I thought was excellent. Not too smoky, not too sweet, not too savory. Truly fantastic BBQ sauce.

Overall, I had a nice time by myself, and enjoyed the experience. Next time, I’ll order the Carolina BBQ Plate and will probably rave about it.

Ah, Duckworths uptown. There are plenty of choices uptown, but Rob and team curate some pretty special beers, and lots of more accessible choices (but please venture out of your comfort and try something special). This was ‘my’ place to hang in Charlotte. A few nicely done IPAs, then head to DIPA, or Imperial Stout town, chased with a Smokehouse Philly and I’d float back to work a happy man, ready to face the horrors of working for a bank. I never really liked all the TV’s but never told Rob that to his face 🙂 I miss this place bad!

Okay experience overall. Wings were tasty. Service was meh but they were busy so I suppose thats to be expected? Restaurant is positioned in a convenient place and walkable to many different attractions.

Service was absolutely terrible and food was not great either. Our server, Khadija, didn’t greet us until 10 minutes after we sat and said she’d be right with us after dropping off a check. We watched her for another 10 minutes servicing other tables before she finally came back. We literally didn’t even have water yet after 20 minutes.

We ordered drinks and food all at once because of her. She got water and our drinks 10 minutes later, and our beers were not cold, like they’d been sitting at the expo for quite a bit.

We got our food 30 minutes after ordering. Mind you, this was flatbreads, a Philly, and a personal pizza. Things that take 10 minutes max. The restaurant was in no way slammed either, with numerous empty tables.

The flatbreads didn’t taste great and looked worse. Needed a lot more cheese and the chicken was just lumped in the center. The centers were all flimsy and soft and the crust was hard. It was more like a big cracker rather than a thick flatbread.

6:04 we were sat, 6:26 we ordered, 6:55 was when we got our food, and she dropped the check at 7:10. We had empty water and beers the whole time, too, and were never offered refills. Felt like our server hated us as she was refilling and paying attention to her other tables.

I will never go here again.

The restaurant accommodated us for a large party of 12. The atmosphere is good, active, casual and not loud. Service was really excellent. Everything was smooth and the food was good enough for everyone to enjoy. My Philly Cheesesteak was a bit dry, but the tater tots were fresh out of the fryer and hot, which I appreciated. The entire table also had lots of appetizers, including the mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, pretzels, guacamole, and chips and cheese dip. It was a good variety and everyone was happy with their experience. Thank you!

0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Walked in and a girl bouncing around, playing with her hair, not really paying attention to the customers hostess had this reply when asking how the long the wait was- “Could be a half hour, could be an hour, but then it could be 2 or 3 hours. Iont know. You can go downstairs but there’s prolly a wait too.”
Walked out. Then 20 minutes later my friends had snagged a few chairs at the end of the bar upstairs, so I went back. The bartender was AWFUL. He was struggling to keep up with orders, and took far too long to get our food and drinks to us.
Food was less than mid. How do you make a buffalo chicken RANCH wrap WITHOUT THE RANCH?????? Not worth the price. This place needs a management overhaul ASAP. And to think, this location used to be amazing.
