If I am within 30 miles of a Tacos El Gordo, I am going there. I usually get two pork tacos and one carne asada taco. Perfect amount for me. Love the pineapple on the tacos adobada. I only wish there was more seating in the restaurant. In the winter it’s just a little too cold to sit outside. We waiting a few minutes with tray in hand and a table opened up. Always satisfying at Tacos El Gordo.

Upon entering this restaurant, it’s immediately clear that this taqueria is not one of those Americanized texmex joints. It’s a monolithic, large, and cavernous space filled with more Spanish writing than English. The stage is set for a top tier taco experience. Or so I thought.

Unfortunately the tacos left much to be desired. The suadero was overcooked, and the chorizo rather bland. Upon glancing at my initial order a passerby remarked that I should definitely try their al pastor. Surprised that I had forgotten to order one of my usual meat options I returned and ordered two al pastor tacos. While the meat was cooked well, the flavor profile did nothing to excite my senses.

The tacos were also incredibly pricey for their size. I was able down each of the $4 al pastor tacos in one bite!

A+ ambience but C- food.

Tacos El Gordo is so fire we’re willing to drive a good way to it. It’s a whole experience! And the tacos are delicious like none other. They pack them full of meat and toppings so you really get your money’s worth. They have aguas frescas and paletas (popsicles) available toward the front. The guys in the kitchen are so friendly too. All in all best taco spot in Vegas

Coming from Australia , we don’t really have too many proper Mexican restaurants so had to do a stop here. Best Mexican food I have ever had, got a little bit of everything and it slapped. Really good atmosphere and the guys making your tacos help ya out with what to order etc

I think I finally found my taco spot here in Vegas. The food was delicious, the options were plentiful, and everyone there was very friendly. I would have given 5 stars but tacos are about $4.19 each which is a little pricy.

This location is further out from the strip so while it’s busy it’s not as crazy as the location on the strip. Everything is cleaner and newer. But the same great taste.

Jamaica not too sweet and not too sour

Chorizo is good

Buche was tender

Tripa is great, I like that they make some crispy so it’s not a mush

Adobaba was the best!

Update Dec 2025:

Always make a stop here on every Vegas trip and yes, I love their new location. Easy in and out, plenty of parking and same great food. Still not a fan of a couple of quirks, but I can live with them when the service is great like the past few times here (quirks = 1) separate lines for different meats, but you can order different meats at just one line and depending on the server may get it for you, put you at the head of the other line or just yell out the order and hope the other station knows it’s for you :), 2) the red salsa used for their asada is not available at cashier, so have to remember to ask when you get your food).

So good, we went back twice in three days. I’ll be the first to admit, El Gordo can be hit and miss but this location on both my visits were spectacular. Their asada always hits, but adobada, buche and tripas are the ones that can be hit and miss but I’ll say not this time at this location. Also love how much parking this location has compared to the one on the strip. My last visit to El Gordo was in San Diego and unfortunately was disappointed in the food and service. Happy to say, I’m a fan again.

I dont know anything about Tacos, but had Tacos el Gordo recommended and everyone I mentioned it to said they love this place. So what the heck, lets give it a go! The food is fantastic. Loads of flavour. The staff were happy to help, they got me different options to try and were very friendly.
Plenty of people coming through, its a busy atmosphere. The seating area itself is very basic, but its meant to be. This place is all about the food. Its not a place that you will be in for long. Quick turn around, tasty food.
If you like taco or want to try some, I recommend it. A great experience.

Tripas is my favorite taco here. Im glad they have location here where its convenient for me. The service is excellent. The place is well maintained and cleaned often. As all of their locations can get busy, this place is not an exception. Try to visit when they open.
