There’ll was an amazing server. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. I had the carne asada pizza. Really good. My wife had the chicken avocado sandwich. Amazing. We loved the atmosphere as well. The outdoor seating was comfortable and pleasant.

No wait at late lunch on a Friday. Very friendly service. Open kitchen looks impressive and organized, with the chef carefully expediting. The house lemonade was very sweet but overall a nice flavor, I tried the dragon fruit. I was happy with the apple and pear salad with salmon. Would definitely come back!

Great happy hour at Matchbox in the Colonnade Outlets. The fig and prosciutto pizza was delicious. Sweet figs and salty prosciutto with fresh arugula on a crispy crust. The blackberry whiskey smash cocktail was refreshing and pretty. Beers were cold and good too. Fun spot with tasty food.

A Great place to eat a variety of dishes, excellent drink choices. The food choices front southern catfish and grits, shrimp with grits, sliders, wings and blueberry lemon drop pancakes. OMG!! Good place for brunch and dinner. Oh by the way, Tavares is the best waiter in the entire world. He took the time to give us the history of the owner, first establishment in Maryland and how South Florida became a hot spot for MatchBox. We had a great time at Matchbox in Sawgrass. Our server, Deja W, was really great. Even though the restaurant was packed, she stayed calm, friendly, and was super attentive. The pasta was definitely my favorite, seasoned to perfection and full of flavor. On top of that, the music was a really good mix of Caribbean vibes that made the whole atmosphere even better. Overall, awesome service, delicious food, and a fun vibe. I’ll definitely be back!

My friend and I tried here on a whim. We were very excited and the atmosphere was unmatched from what we could tell. We ended up sitting at the bar because two seats became available right when we walked in. I had a delicious peach mimosa and that was very enjoyable. We ordered the artichoke dip, the shrimp and grits and the catfish and grits with a side of eggs. The food tasted rushed. The artichoke dip has way too much oil to enjoy. The eggs were burnt, crusted over and cold. This was the second set of eggs they sent because the first portion came out before all our food. The grits had a good flavor and was seasoned but was luke warm. The fish was delicious. I would probably revisit but it would not be for brunch and maybe on a slower night.

I had a great experience at Matchbox! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and everything came out quickly. What really made our visit stand out was our server, Tavaris. He was extremely attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the entire meal. His service was excellent and really added to the overall experience. If you’re coming here, definitely ask for Tavaris, he’ll take great care of you. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Matchbox at Sawgrass Mills Mall offers an unlimited family-style brunch on weekends (Saturday & Sunday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) for $49. It’s a 2-hour, multi-course experience, live DJ with a generous selection of shareable dishes you can reorder as much as you want.
I’ve now been to this location twice, and both visits were a bit of a hit or miss.
On my second visit, I was told by the bartender that I couldn’t take leftovers home because it’s “unlimited.” I asked why and was told that was just the rule—even though there’s no disclaimer about this on the menu or online. I had ordered quite a few items to try, so it felt wasteful to throw away half the food.
I spoke with a manager, who told me I should be allowed to take leftovers home. Unfortunately, this seemed to cause tension with the bartender, and service declined noticeably after that. Despite the manager’s confirmation, the bartender refused to give me a takeaway box, and I had to get my own.
This really shouldn’t have been so complicated. Consistency in policy—and clear communication among staff—would go a long way.
That said, the food itself is very good, with plenty of options. Drinks are tasty, though on the sweeter side as you’d expect from brunch cocktails.
I’d love to keep coming back here, but next time I’ll probably avoid sitting at the bar because of the service issues. Overall, I still enjoyed the place, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
