I’m writing this review just to give Luis kudos. We haven’t had service this good in years. There were seven of us, and Luis had two other large parties behind us, as well as his other tables. He did not miss a beat and had everything we needed and wanted at our fingertips in seconds.
Our mains were good. We enjoyed the fried fish, chicken wings, smash burger, among other entrees. Now, the side game is lacking. Most of us didn’t eat our sides because they were simply bad. The cream corn was some of the most disgusting mush I’ve ever tried to eat. I made it through two bites. My spouses mushroom orzo was inedible.
Warning to those wanting a quiet night. Friday night seems to be family toddler night out with many parents not knowing proper protocol for screaming kids and bad behavior. As a dad, my family always respected other diners. There seems to be an issue with the clientele here. Nothing the restaurant can do about it, but just be ready.
The atmosphere is great. Easy parking. Super diverse menu. Go for the service and menu variety. Bring earplugs and some sides in your pocket.

I was very impressed with this place. In fact, I’d go as far as to say it might be in the top 10 best places to eat in Wilson County. Maybe top 5. Flavors were fantastic, portions were nice, service was great. Only suggestion is to pass on the kettle chips, not thick enough, and bypass the gravy on the steak. Also, if something says market price, I’d ask what the price is. Don’t want you to have sticker shock on that steak. Overall, I’ll be back. Great job!

I really have to give this place so much praise. My husband and I have been going there for a long time and honestly, I can’t speak highly enough about the staff there. They are truly some of the best people I’ve meet and I always want this place to have continuous success. The bartenders Jayde, Brock and Zach are charming, sweet and attentive and the staff and hosts (Cam, Sav, Grace, just to name a few – LUIS IS MISSED) are great to be around – The food is even better – I absolutely love their strawberry fields salad, Roast, and smash burger –

Was in the area and tried this place on a whim! So glad we did! Pleasantly surprised! We tried quite a few different things from Wings, Salads, Burgers to Steak! It was all great! Plus they make a lot of their sauces in house! We will be back to try more things for sure

Great food and service! We went for dinner and were greeted with a smile, and seated right away. The restaurant was very busy, yet our waitress took great care of us. I had the fish and chips and the portion size is perfect; quality over quantity. Plump pieces of fried cod and perfectly seasoned fries. My daughter had the chicken wrap and it was delicious and perfect portion. We also had the fried green tomatoes, very tasty. We’re visiting from out of state and wanted local eats, not chain restaurants. Barrel House was a nice treat and we will definitely try it again when visiting the Nashville area.

We arrived at 11:30 AM, and since we had already enjoyed breakfast, we were surprised to find that only a breakfast brunch menu was available, with no lunch options. While this was disappointing, we decided to stay and explore the brunch offerings.
We started with the hummus appetizer, which was tasty, but we found the center to be overly seasoned, making it difficult to enjoy fully. My husband ordered the huevos rancheros, which featured a unique twist but unfortunately lacked the expected flavor. The sausage link was notably spicy, even for him, and it was a bit overwhelming.
I opted for the avocado toast, which was good in concept, but it was prepared with prepackaged guacamole rather than fresh avocado. Additionally, the turkey sausage had an unpleasant texture and was nearly inedible.
On the service front, we encountered some challenges. Our waitress seemed preoccupied with other tasks, like prepping and painting walls, which made it difficult for us to get her attention when we needed assistance.
Overall, while the atmosphere was lovely, the limited menu options, inconsistent food quality, and service issues left us feeling disappointed. Given the prices of the meals and the brunch-only offerings, we likely won’t be returning to Barrel House Restaurant in the future.

Woken up looking for brunch. Found it here at Barrel House! I had thev Huevos Rancheros which came with chorizo, black beans, eggs, and potatoes. All were seasoned perfectly. My girlfriend had the Borikén Skilket which came with fried plantains, black beans, scrambled eggs, and potatoes.
Luis was our server and he was attentive and insightful. We had French Press decaf and an espresso martini.
Note to owner: advertise your breakfast. Put the menu on website. Put a sign out front.

BHR looks small from the outside but it’s quite a lovely space and atmosphere inside. My friend picked this place for a dinner and we had a great time with the menu. The hummus appetizer glazed with honey and some crushed or crunchy peanut was so delicious. I don’t drink alcohol so I requested for a drink without alc and I got the mock tail which was great .
Our waitress was very busy to attend to us when we wanted her, but she was nice and cautious. I told my husband about this place and I’ll be visiting with my family for a dinner anytime soon.
