Blanco Cafe is easily one of the best spots in the city for delicious, comforting Tex-Mex, and it absolutely deserves a full five stars. Every visit reminds me why this place has such a strong reputation. The tacos are incredible — fresh, flavorful, and always made with generous portions. Whether you get breakfast tacos or something a little heartier, every bite tastes homemade and satisfying.
Their daily specials are another major highlight. The portions are big, the prices are fair, and the food comes out hot and packed with authentic flavor. It feels like you’re getting a home-cooked meal every time. The enchiladas, plates, and sides always taste fresh, and you can tell they take pride in keeping the quality consistently high. It’s the kind of comfort food that keeps you coming back again and again.
The service is also worth mentioning. The staff is friendly, quick, and always makes you feel welcome. Even when the restaurant gets busy — and it often does — they keep things running smoothly without losing that warm, local charm. The atmosphere is classic, clean, and perfect for a casual meal with family or friends.
Overall, Blanco Cafe delivers exactly what great Tex-Mex should be: flavorful food, generous portions, and reliable service. If you’re craving amazing tacos, tasty specials, and a place that feels like a San Antonio favorite, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

I came from San Francisco to visit some family and had to stop by one of my faves I always love. Again they did not disappoint. Brought a friend and he was impressed with the food and especially the flour tortillas. He worked at a central market and just by touch he could feel the freshness let alone the taste. Thank you for being around like an old friend

Best, Mexican restaurant. I have visited it in San Antonio yet. The service is excellent, very comfortable dining area and the food is delicious with generous portions. The flower tortillas are 10 out of 10.

We were referred by a friend who works in the area. Delicious food. Fajitas incredibly tender. Café atmosphere. Thick sweet tortillas. No red sauce. Had to ask for refills. Waitress took our order then never came back to check on us. Our order was brought out by other servers. Enjoyed our entrees.

Fantastic Mexican “dive” or “greasy spoon” ☕️ … Breakfast all day. OUTSTANDING coffee: best in town… always freshly brewed (& very low acidity). Prices will draw you in but the fresh food will get you back in.
This is a high value ~ Low on atmosphere dining experience… no frills just good food & great coffee! Very busy, daily. Quieter between 10a-11a, weekdays. High RECOMMEND

Not how I remember this place. Hadn’t been to this location in about a year and it has changed, we ordered one taco each, a potato and chorizo and a chorizo and egg with bean. The potato and chorizo was all potato and the chorizo and egg with beans had a chemical taste to it. The soft drink I ordered I sent back due to it having lemon seeds in it, I didn’t order lemon with my drink. The waitress decided to take care of two other tables before bringing a fresh drink, it didn’t matter since I stopped eating my taco anyway. Will not return to this location.

Best Mexican food in San Antonio! Portions are huge, and your plate will be covered with food. You might have to wait for a table, but it will be well worth the wait. Service is quick, and the food comes out fast! I got the steak ranchero with cheese enchiladas plate with a barbacoa taco on the side. The cheese enchiladas were the best I ever had! The barbacoa was tender and not at all gressy. Flour tortillas are homemade and thick and fluffy. My sisters got the Carne guisada and cheese enchiladas plate. The Carne guisada was so moist and tender. Everything was so delicious!!

Finally decided to try this restaurant after driving past it on the way to work. The food was okay. No complimentary chips and salsa. There was only one kind of hot sauce and food was just okay in our opinion. I ordered a fajita taco with avocado and a bacon egg cheese mix. The tortillas were fluffy which I do like but flavor was average. My boyfriend ordered the 2 cheese enchiladas, crispy beef taco with rice and beans. He too agreed his plate was short of average. Not sure if this is one we would go back to.
