I visited this restaurant with my mom last week. We were warmly greeted by the host, who took our coats and showed us to our table. Although the restaurant was fairly empty for a weekend, it took about 15-20 minutes for a server to attend to us, even after we asked twice.
We ordered the chicken curry and paneer malai lababdar. The portion sizes were decent, and the naans were fresh and well-made. However, the dishes were quite heavy on the spices—especially the garam masala—which made the flavors a bit overpowering for our taste. We also had tomato soup as a starter, which was average.
The ambiance is pleasant, and the pricing is reasonable considering the plaza’s location. The server who eventually took our order was polite and courteous. That said, I believe management could improve service efficiency—perhaps by having the host assist with orders when it’s not busy or ensuring a server is readily available for guests.
Overall, it was a decent experience, but refining the spice balance and service coordination would make it much better.

Omg!!! The aesthetics were superb. Loved the food, vibes and service. Priya was really helpful in choosing and delivering our cuisines. Thankyou Priya. I loved the gobi manchurian, golgappas were mouthwatering. As well as the special malai paneer was yummy. The presentation of the drinks is really nice. Visiting again definitely.

Malai Indian Restaurant was an absolutely fantastic experience. The decor is beautiful and creates a warm, upscale atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable right away. The live performance really added to the vibe and kept the environment energetic and enjoyable throughout the visit.
The food was outstanding — full of authentic flavors and perfectly prepared. The soya chaap and lasuni paneer were delicious, especially paired with soft, fresh rumali roti. Every dish was rich, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. The Shahi Tukda was the perfect sweet ending — indulgent and beautifully made. The drinks were also excellent and complemented the meal very well.
Service was top-notch by Inder— friendly, attentive, and professional. Even the washrooms were very clean, which always adds to a good overall impression.
Highly recommend Malai for great food, great service, and a lively dining experience.

They have very nice interior style gives luxurious feel. Food presentation is very well. I liked the spices / curry and also momos …. Only the ing is their Naan is bit chewy otherwise taste wise all good. Very welcoming staff. They have this weekdays noon time 50% scheme is good idea. Best thing is they are24/7 open so you can go any time – I suggest try their Mashroom Delux- a wonderful dish.
P.S. beware if you don’t intend to pay $5 per water bottle, remember to ask for no bottled water as they will not tell you about bottled water charges in advance.

My husband booked Malai for my birthday family dinner during the Family Day long weekend, and I must say—it was such a memorable experience. As soon as we entered, the restaurant was jam-packed, and like most places in the GTA on a long weekend, we were a bit worried about the service. But to our surprise, everything turned out absolutely amazing.
A huge shoutout to Inder, who took such wonderful care of us. From the moment we were seated, he made us feel genuinely welcomed with his warm and friendly approach. His recommendation—the lychee martini—was superb! Since we were a group of 8 with a child, the seating was very comfortable and well arranged.
Now, coming to the food—oh my god, we ate so much and loved every bite! We started with the Malai soya chaap, tandoori momos, and shami kebabs. The kids’ special malai pasta was surprisingly delicious, and even the French fries ordered for the kids were so flavourful. For the mains, we had palak paneer, masala aloo gobhi, dal makhni, dal tadka, and garlic naan—everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Honestly, I almost got into a food coma
They also surprised me with champagne, cake, and special birthday wishes, which truly made my day extra special. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with great photo opportunities and elegant Italian-history-inspired aesthetics.

Lovely restaurant and hospitality is great. The food is awesome. They have happy hours until 5pm where the food is 50% off. Their Shrimp Briyani is excellent. The size of shrimps is Jumbo. Salmon Tikka was tasty. A must try place. Ms. Navdeep hospitality is much appreciated.
