I was here for Sunday afternoon football and had a good time. Very fun atmosphere. Had great service at the bar—although some folks I was talking to at a table had some issues with their bill. They add gratuity to checks—even for only one person!—so just know that! The cauli wings were really delicious!

This place is decent! Food and drinks were good and it’s a great place for a bigger group (we had 8). Also kid-friendly. The service was a bit spotty. When we arrived, our server was very attentive but we were there for a couple of hours to watch a game and as time went on, it felt like she disappeared. We likely would’ve ordered more drinks if she’d checked on us more often. I was also not a fan of automatic 20% “service charge.” The way they explain this on the menu and on the bill is very unclear. We presumed this took place of a tip since the percentage is so high? I usually tip 20% anyways but I can see how this would be a major turn off for others.

Food was delicious. Jalepeño smash burger and Nachos were very tasty. Fries needed salt but you can salt to your liking. Although none was provided. Ketchup was provided in individual cups which would have been ok if they had arrived with meal. Server did not check. Ran out of water in table carafe too. So while server was nice, the place was not very busy so it would have been good to check on our table more often especially since 20% gratuity was auto added for our table of 6. Ambience was good. Felt safe, well lit. Good for groups and for kids/families. I would eat here again and hope for improved service. Server seemed new to the occupation so expect service will improve over time.

We visited on a Saturday night. Family of 4 seated quickly. Games were on TVs everywhere. Atmosphere was good (but loud for those who might care). The food prices were probably in line for the area but for burgers, $22 was heavy handed. The burgers were ok. Nothing memorable. I prefer other burgers nearby. The tab was $105 then I saw the paragraph about the $20 non-gratuity service charge. Also led me to believe this is for back of house staff so any tip left would be for front of house staff. I worked in food service for years growing up. I don’t like the blindsided nature of this. It just doesn’t sit well when it surprises the customer and we have no choice. I still left 20% on the $105 sub-total because this is what I do regularly, and I want to pay my servers well, but my final bill was around $160 for 4 meals, 3 soft drinks, one beer. For a sports bar atmosphere and nothing more than burgers, I wasn’t impressed. I can’t imagine any reason I’d go back again.

When we entered Tap and Burger, the college basketball game was blaring so loud that we had trouble hearing the hostess. We were seated right away, though, and when our server came over, the first thing he told us was that there is a 20% service charge on all orders. This is a pet peace of mine: if you need to to charge more for your food to pay your staff, increase your prices. Don’t make me do math to figure out how much everything will cost, especially when it is an extra 40% with a typical tip!

That being said, we stayed and had dinner. My burger was a little overdone, and the onion rings tasted like they fried in rancid oil. My wife’s sweet potato fries were decent, though.

In the end, 2 beers, 3 burgers, and upgraded sides came out to $98 or thereabouts. I am pretty sure I can find a better deal on burgers and beers elsewhere.

We were there on a Friday evening, so it was busy, but we got seated right away. The burgers are SO good, and they yave gluten-free buns available. Nice selection of beers. There was live music that we enjoyed, but it was too loud even on the other side of the restaurant. We’ll be back, but maybe not on a Friday again.

To be honest, we used to really like tap and burger but it seems a lot in the equation has changed. We visited last night to take my sister out as a treat for giving us a ride from the airport. We were greeted by Alina at the bar, we weren’t asked if we needed drinks, which we did, this sets the tone for the terrible experience to come. We ordered apps and noticed a menu change no big deal it happens. I went to the bathroom and learned my party was pestered to order twice while I was gone, luckily they did not. We were not given app plates or silverware.I returned and we ordered Alina seemed to be having some issues with the P.O.S. It took her 2 times and a while to get my wife’s order then got the final order all taking quite some time. When the food arrived my wife’s was missing bacon I was missing the extra sauce I ordered and 2 of the 3 drinks were left empty without an offer to get us new ones. My burger was not the usual exquisite burger I had ordered in the past but simply mid. My wife let Alina know she didn’t get bacon as ordered and she said it was fine to just remove the charge. Instead Alina starts to argue with her that she would have to delete and re-ring the entire burger but it would be easier if she could just take the food to the back and get the bacon put on. Okay interesting to be argued with from a bartender with such a simple request, instead we recommended leaving the charge and getting some bacon from the kitchen. This luckily worked and my wife was happy. Well the guest next to us at the corner of the bar asked if we had gotten some French fries (she had ordered 30 minutes ago) it turns out they were mistakenly dropped at our party and since we had an order of fries in our order we didn’t think too much on this. Well it was brought to Alinas attention where again she argued with the other guest. This is a simple fix and I’m sorry to say this bartender needs retraining or isn’t meant for front of house. Along with all this the bartender would be absent from the bar not once but twice for roughly 10 minutes on both occasions. No one to fill drinks watch or handle the bar, empty. We get to the end of our sub-par meal and ask for boxes and the check we receive boxes and are left another 5 minutes without the bill. This was not a busy night or overly wild just typical relaxed Monday. We ask again for the check it’s finally given and Alina let’s us know 20% gratuity is already included. Now I go out and tip 20% for mid to okay service but usually leave 25-30% it’s a not easy work and I understand that. This was outrageous so I called the next day to see about this and let them know my experience. I found out the whole staff front and back of house is paid tipped minimum wage ($16.27) and splits the tips 100%. This is the owners way of reducing labor costs at the employees and guests detriment. This owner is also cutting cost by redoing their menu with lower quality items and mid execution. This is a high end area and you are still charging high end prices for burgers. We will not be returning to tap and burger but did want to shout out to Peirce who understood hospitality and listening well.

Went here on a Saturday evening because I had gift cards and wanted to take the wife and kids out. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived but started to get crowded shortly after arrival.

Waitress was friendly but the restaurant was clearly short staffed and it showed with the service, which was slow and inattentive. Requests for refills and sides were forgotten.

Food was ok and atmosphere was fine. In my opinion, this restaurant needs to get rid of the service charge. The service was the worst part of the restaurant, and the they expect a gratuity on top. Won’t be back.

Food was decent, not the best but not the worst! Chips and queso were good and double smash burger was OK – better than In and Out!

Service absolutely sucked, primarily our waitress! Because we were ready, we ordered our meals at the same time when the waitress asked us for our drink and appetizer orders. After ordering, a few minutes later our appetizer was delivered followed by our entrees a few minutes later. Our appetizer and entrees were served by someone other than our waitress and we had to ask the gentleman who brought out our entrees if he could please bring out our drinks (we ordered sodas) because we still had not received them, we’d been sitting at our table for approximately 15-20 min at this time. We finished our meals before we seen our waitress, she asked how everything was and if we’d like anything else, I had to ask her if I could get a refill of my soda, it took several minutes but she returned with it. Our waitress came back to our table about 5 min later with the check but dropped it off as she walked by. We seen the most out of her when we paid the bill!

This restaurant charges a MANDATORY 20% gratuity to all checks, which is OK if the service justifies it, but today it was not justified.

During our stay, I counted approximately 35 other customers in the building, majority of which was sitting at the bar, so they were not that busy to have bad service.

This was my second time eating at this restaurant and my wife’s third. My previous time, we did have better service but that has been several months ago. For what we spent having a couple of burgers, fries, appetizer and couple of soda’s, I will most likely go somewhere else, there are to many other close by options for a burger.

The food was overpriced and the burgers were pretty bad. We had their signature black and blue burger and fries. The burger hardly had any blue cheese and was overly SMOTHERED in bacon jam which overpowered everything else. This should not be called a black and blue burger but more accurately a “bacon syrup burger” and was absolutely terrible. There was so much syrupy jam it made the bottom bun soggy and a sticky mess to try and eat since napkins just stuck to every finger. The fries were ok, not crispy but edible. Sweet potato fries not worth the extra cost because they were overcooked. Our server was nice and the atmosphere was ok….its just a bar so nothing special. The beer was the best thing about the visit which is way it got one more star than deserved. The 20% added service charge was an insult given the poor execution of the food. We would definitely not patronize this place again.
