Had a great experience here overall. The waitress was very attentive and courteous. The environment was clean and welcoming, had a very good vibe. The sushi tasted fresh, and the chicken fried rice was delicious! No complaints here

This was our third visit and we stuck to the usual; Hibachi meal. The meal comes with ( I thought) soup or salad, and a shrimp appitizer. Check the menu. The salad was nothing but very wet lettuce this time, very unimpressed , the soup was a clear broth; I was expecting Miso. We got a new chef, he was entertaining but nothing like the last two. The dinner was good but seemed to be lacking in size and assortment. I guess Wednesdays are not a good day, there were only five people seated, very slow night.
Choices being what they are here, I would try them again, maybe a different meal.I would still recommend them.☺

I eat here fairly frequently since I live nearby. The food is quite good. I absolutely love sushi have always been pleased with theirs. One of the two best in Beaufort. My son is a huge fan of the hibachi (and he is a very picky eater).
Service often leaves much to be desired. Very hit or miss. Usually when I go alone and sit at a table, the service is good. Service at the sushi bar tends to be good as well. Sitting at the hibachi grill is a whole other story. The actual chefs are very nice and put on the usual show. The actual service, however, had been absolutely abysmal.
Overall I do enjoy eating here and enjoy the food but the only reason I would chance sitting at the hibachi again would be because my child loves the show and the food. Better to just order your hibachi at a regular table though.

I went there three times in my three years in Beaufort. I regret not going more often. This was the closest thing to Okinawa cuisine that I have found. I found the flavor and delight in every bite. The chef was enthusiastic and found joy in his work. I loved the atmosphere, and recommend to everyone looking for good hibachi, or sushi.

I don’t go to Yama as often as I’d like to, and I should, because their sushi is amazing. I have been there several times however and each time, there has never been a wait or problems with the food or service. Great customer service all the way around. Everyone is smiling and friendly. The food is great. The sushi is wonderfully delicious. If you haven’t been to Yama, it is an outstanding experience.

Stoped in last night about an hour before they closed with my wife and 3 children. There were like 3 cars in the parking lot and it was late so we figured some of the quality would be lost in food and service being that it was the end of the night, but boy were we wrong! The food was amazing. We all had the hibachi chicken and it was wonderful! And I cannot say enough nice things about our chef Toy (sorry if I spell it wrong). He was not only a great chef but a super nice guy who joked with us and kept all the kids entertained. I would go back again just for his service and table side demeanor. The food he made was some of the best hibachi I’ve ever had. He deserves a raise for sure. Our waitress was also friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone, it was fantastic! Will definitely be back for lunch next time!

The food here is pretty good, however the actual restaurant could use an update. There is no carpet or anything to absorb sound so it gets very loud and echo like which takes away from the experience. Also, the sushi is not great but ive never had a bad experience with the hibachi. Also, they have very good ranch!

The hibachi cook, Toy, was awesome! Best hibachi we have ever had (and we have had lots).. The chicken was amazing! Shrimp absolutely delicious as well!! Toy made us a special dipping sauce that enhanced the flavors even more! Service was fast also. Would highly recommend to everyone!!! We will definitely be repeat customers!!!!
