Went to this establishment having a bad experience before, giving a second chance went back tonight ordered 2 8 piece shrimp the large oxtail double mac side of cabbage spent over 60 dollars thinking this will be a better experience manager or owner don’t know, came out intoxicated talking to associates as if their price hacking per customer telling the cashier “get him babe” I was engaging with the cashier and fellow workers seems comfortable. Waiting on my food, still expecting my order to be good, asked what was the difference between the oxtail and the large oxtail the gentleman ensured i was good , going back and forth from the sheet that’s placed between the lobby and the kitchen. I got home and was very disappointed got oxtail and very small oxtail and not that many. Paying the price I paid is very ridiculous. If this is the management, you guys should reconsider if this is the owner business not going last. A one star couldn’t give a 0 because I couldn’t leave my comment. Great food, terrible management.

Let me first say that I have this place a chance to redeem themselves. I stopped by yesterday around 12:30 since I was coming from an event in Chicago I decided to stop and get something I can’t get close to home.(I live in Minooka so that you have a better understanding ) I chose this place because I have had the food on multiple occasions and it’s always good and fresh however I’ve never eaten at this particular location.
I ordered the salmon dinner with yams and Mac n cheese. As well as a 6 piece jerk wings.
When I got home I took a couple bites of the salmon and it was crusty, the top layer was hard and it was a lil chewy vs flaky so It’s my belief that it was over cooked.
The yams were cold the Mac n cheese was room temperature but the rice and beans were still warm. Now I live about 35 min from this place but hear me out, I would think the sides would have some temperature consistency so I figured they were serving yesterdays sides and had not heated them up completely however they tasted ok so that wasn’t a big deal for me. Oh and the wings were really small but any who.
I called to let the young lady know my dilemma about the The salmon, and she asked me to bring it back now as stated previously I was riding through on my way home. That’s the only reason I stopped to get food, so I really didn’t want to go back and drive 35 minutes to take the food back and 35 more minutes back home. So she asked me to bring it back the next day, because I knew I had to go back to Chicago for my church second service I said OK.
Now I accidentally left the saved salmon sitting on my counter this morning, so on my way from church, I Stopped to get the salmon replaced, She asked me where the food was and I told her I left it at home. She proceeded to go on the back and came back and said she couldn’t replace it without seeing the food first so I FaceTimed my 8 yr old daughter so that I can let her see it to prove it was never eaten etc. after showing her the food whomever in the back decided to replace it.
Now I understand some people mess complaints up for others but My problem lies in the fact that I drove back this way, and still had to prove that I did not eat the food even though they knew I was taking a long ride to get here and the fact that I did not get to enjoy my entire meal on yesterday, so I never even finished the sides and I came all the way back out here to get my food replaced and all they gave me was a piece of salmon. I know some may say well that’s what I complained about but I personally feel like they should’ve replaced my meal to its entirety considering I had to come all the way back up here for 1, 2 in the rain, 3 again it’s far from me. Lastly I was going to purchase more food today because my family wanted it for dinner but after the way I was serviced I decided to keep my coins and I will never visit this location again.
I do believe the way that cook the salmon at this location needs some work cause it looks a lil better today but it’s still over cooked. I’m really disappointed and hope some changes are made because I really like to see black owned business thrive as I’m a business owner myself.
1 last thing, the lobby needs to be cleaned up.

We ordered 2 taco pitas. It was $19.97. Almost $10 a piece for barely any jerk chicken. There is NOTHING to come with it, no sides or anything. The jerk chicken pita did not have anything on it but cheese and white onion. It was over seasoned and difficult yo eat because it was so spicy. Jerk chicken should be edible. However, it stated it would have cilantro. We will not be back. Too expensive for what you get.

Told me the order would be ready for pick up in 30 minutes. Got there 45 minutes after placing the order and it sti wasn’t ready. Waited an additional 20 minutes. This chain of restaurants are ridiculous with the value of their customers time and its overpriced for the amount of food they give you. My large cabbage and mac n cheese wasn’t even filled to the top of the container and the 1/2 white was so small. I only had one wing in the order when I should have had 2.

Called my order in at 6:37pm, the lady says 20minutes. I get there they say they are out of Mac and yams it’s going to be 30minute wait. I got my food at 8:07pm which is ridiculous. Mac was watery and disgusting. Rice was crunchy, pieces stuck in my teeth. I do not recommend. Cashier lady has no customer service. Save ya money and time.

The food (jerk chicken) is good, but the place is a dump inside. A fight broke out inside between the cashier and a patron. Nothing serious. So get your food and leave immediately. I’ll go back to eat the jerk chicken, there is no dine in, it’s all carry out. The jerk chicken is the best I’ve had in the area, just wish they’d clean it up a bit and make it more accommodating even if you don’t dine in. I’m giving 3 stars only because I think they can improve the appearance inside, im not complaining about the food quality.

I got the jerk chicken dinner with mac and cheese and cabbage. The cabbage and chicken was good. The red beans and rice and mac and cheese seemed old. This was my first time here in a long time now I know why. I will try some place different next time I want jerk chicken.

Horrible service they told me the veggie plate comes with rice and beans and then they never gave it. When i called about it i was just told that i can come pick up the rice later (even though i live far from them) and then the woman on the phone was rude and offered nothing to compensate the fact they basically lied to have me get food they knew they wouldnt provide. What jerk place doesnt add the rice and beans to the food thats a part of why people order jerk food specifically. They have no supervisor nor manager on duty so its a poor place to spend money.
