Great experience at Benihana today! We arrived right at opening, and the staff was already making sure everything looked perfect. Irma took care of us and was amazing; friendly, attentive, and always checking in. She explained everything clearly and kept our drinks refilled.
Joaquin was our chef, and he made the experience fun with his humor while still being very professional. The food was delicious, cooked perfectly, and the restaurant was clean. We’ll definitely be back!

From start to finish, the service was excellent and we felt genuinely welcomed. It was a great experience all around, and we’ll definitely be back! ️✨
The food itself was very mediocre. I expected more from a famous chain like Benihana. There are better hibachi places in Sacramento where the chef entertains you and isn’t grumpy.
Drinks took a long time, even though it was just opening for dinner and the restaurant was nearly empty.
The biggest issue was with the chef. I was seated in front of him, and all the smoke from cooking blew in my face because the exhaust fan wasn’t on. When I asked if it was okay to move, he just said, “I don’t know” and continued working. Later, he served the wrong food because he didn’t account for our new seating. When I tried to order a steak for my son, he told me to go through our waiter, but by the time I did, he had already cleaned the grill and was leaving—again, no communication.
The only positive was the busser, who was attentive and helpful. While I understand there’s a system to follow in the kitchen, better communication and basic customer care would have made a huge difference.
Highly recommend this Benihana location. Beautiful views & great service!
