Starlight Diner and Lounge is your standard, diner—nothing particularly memorable, but nothing offensive either.
My wife ordered the French toast and I went with the sausage and cheese omelet. Both dishes were perfectly fine; they hit the spot for a casual breakfast, even if they didn’t stand out from any other diner.
The interior is showing its age. You’ll definitely notice a few spots around the place that are in need of some repairs and TLC. One major plus is the easy parking, which takes the stress out of the arrival.
It’s a decent spot for a quick, no-frills bite if you happen to be in the neighborhood, but probably not somewhere you’d go out of your way to visit again.

I picked this diner because of its rating and they absolutely delivered! The food & service were absolutely fantastic. I asked the server for recommendations and she listed off her favorites. We ordered the potato skins, chicken fingers, coleslaw slaw, perogies, cheesesteak & egg platter. Everything came out very quickly and perfectly cooked. The portions were very generous & the prices were fair. We’ll definitely be returning.

I stopped in and ordered the turkey melt with a side of potato pierogi, and everything was excellent. The turkey melt was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the pierogi were a delicious, comforting bonus.

They also offer complimentary soup, and today’s choices were navy bean or chicken noodle. I went with the chicken noodle and it was loaded, hearty, and incredibly flavorful — honestly one of the best diner soups I’ve had.

Service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole meal even better. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area!

If you are looking for a genuine diner experience, this is the place to go. The decor is absolutely perfect for a diner and the service is amazing. I got their chicken taco salad and it was humongous and tasted amazing. I forgot to ask for sour cream for a side and I would definitely recommend that as it would have elevated it to the next level. they had a wide variety of options and everyone in my group loved what they got.

We had a holiday gathering in their private room and the service was exceptional! They gave us a party menu to order from. Prices were decent and they also have a bar inside of this restaurant. Our waitress, Kate, was very attentive & sweet. We gather here as a group every December and look forward to making more memories in the future.

Stopped in Starlite this afternoon heading home from a concert and I have to say, I was presently surprised! It has a very unique 80s look on the outside, but a very spacious and Homey diner appeal on the inside. They have a cute little salad bar, and everyone is extremely friendly.
Being extremely hungry, I had two meals, the red pepper and feta omelette and the Croissant breakfast sandwich. I was not expecting the croissant to be so large and it was very tasty. The home fries weren’t super flavorful but the rest of the meal made up for them ten fold!
I probably won’t be back in town anytime soon, but best believe, if I do find myself back in Allentown PA, this is where I will go for breakfast!

I really hate leaving anything other than super positive reviews, but this was a struggle. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. At all. Our server was wonderful. Quick and attentive and friendly. But both orders were inaccurate, and the food that did arrive was cold. We were there around 8am on a Saturday, and it wasn’t very busy. Not a bad mark, but the food mixups and quality weren’t able to be chalked up to a slammed kitchen. It feels like this could have a great vibe given the right timing, but we did not get that experience.

I was pleasantly surprised when we stopped at the Starlite Diner tonight. The place was nice and clean. The soup and salad bar was small, but had 3 choices of soup and a wide selection of salad dressing options. There were no meats on the salad bar, but most of the basics were represented. I had the lobster bisque soup which used imitation crab meat instead of lobster, but still had a good flavor. The Beef Stroganoff (only available on Saturdays) was quite good. The beef chunks were cooked very tender and there were a lot of sliced mushrooms in the sauce. At $40 for dinner for 2, I thought the price was a tad high for what we got, but the food was good and the service was no-nonsense. Lately I have been frustrated that a lot of waitstaff at my favorite restaurants have started affecting an overly pleasant and obviously fake mannerism to the point of using a fake voice that is almost like baby talk. That was not the case here. The lady that served us was very professional and sincerely personable. In short, I would eat here again if I am in the area again.

This place is a joke. I ordered a roast beef sandwich with clear instructions — au jus, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onions slightly cooked, and horseradish. What I got was garbage: a cold, dry, tasteless sandwich on plain white toast. No au jus on the meat, no horseradish on the bread, raw onions, and meat so dry it was barely edible.

I sent it back after two bites. Instead of owning their screw-up, they told me I ordered the “wrong sandwich” and then had the nerve to charge me another $7. Even after paying more, they still couldn’t get it right. Same mistakes, same trash sandwich.

For what they charged me, I could have gone to 7-Eleven, spent less, and actually gotten something decent. At least there, I know what I’m getting — not this pathetic excuse for food.

The only saving grace was my waitress (Kaylee or Haley — she was fine), but the kitchen? Useless. If they can’t even follow basic instructions for a simple sandwich, why should anyone trust them to make anything?

I was going to be generous with 3 stars, but after this disaster, they’re lucky I can’t go below 1 star. Do yourself a favor — don’t waste your money here. Go anywhere else.

I JUST TOOK TWO BITES OF THIS SANDWICH AND IT TASTES LIKE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
NOT EVEN THE HORSERADISH HAS ANY FLAVOR.
