Long-standing option for New York-style pizza, subs & calzones in warm, laid-back quarters.

Great divey little pizza place with wonderful food!! We shard the kitchen sink pizza without Canadian bacon, and a meatball sub. It was absolutely delicious. The crust was nice and thin and crunchy, the sauce was possibly the best I’ve had. 10/10 will go back and encourage everyone I know to go too.

If you’re craving real New York–style pizza, this place absolutely nails it. The crust is perfectly thin and crispy with just the right chew, the sauce has that authentic tangy flavor, and the cheese melts into every bite like it should. You can tell they use quality ingredients and take pride in every pie that comes out of the oven.
The atmosphere is laid-back but welcoming — it feels like a true neighborhood spot. The staff is friendly and fast, even when they’re busy. Whether you grab a quick slice or order a whole pie, you’ll leave wishing you had room for more.
Hands down the best pizza I’ve had outside of New York. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I am from NY and I love pizza. So, let’s see if Gessi passes the test: The slice held up to the “fold test,” it was crisp and chewy. The marina sauce was flavorful, but lacked something, maybe oregano, but it held up the cheese. It was good, not authentic NY, but close.

Sandwich was 10 dollars and hardly had any meat on it. The pizza was ok but barely had any cheese on it. I was not impressed with the food. It was a bad value overall. Literally my Italian sandwich had about 50 cents worth of ham on it and maybe 26
5 cents worth of pepperoni. There also must be a shortage of onions? The sandwich cake with a tiny bag of chips. So way overpriced. We won’t go there again.

We got their Tuesday special, which is a free cheese pizza with purchase of 2 topping pizza. We ordered a mushroom and olive. Both were ok but the crust was bland and missing any flavor. But the up side is that the pizza was better cold the next day.

I went in hoping to get a vegan pizza. Sadly, they didn’t have a plant based cheese. However, the person taking our order said she was vegan and made a recommendation. The veggie sub made vegan was great. My wife enjoyed her salad and several slices of pizza. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. I do wish they had dedicated vegan offerings on the menu. The menu did say vegan options available.

I had never tried Leon Gessis before. Had to wait in line for about 20 minutes. Honestly not a big deal because the atmosphere was just kind. I felt like I want in the springs anymore. Got a large pepperoni and bacon pizza and off thr first bite I knew I would never get pizza anywhere else. Idgaf about the wait. Worth it. This is the pizza ive been looking for my whole life!

They got their parking lot back! We moved here from Chicago, land of amazing pizza on every corner (not just deep dish either) and this is our go to pizza spot. Quality pies with good ingredients and a reasonable price point. Far from pretentious, Leon Gessi has a nostalgic quality that will resonate with most. Good boneless wings and salads as well!

I ordered 2 topping 2 slices only, no sauce for me, and paid for additional toppings. It was really good! Next time I’ll ask for less cheese though. About 4$ per slice was a good deal!

Best home-style NY pizza in the springs, by far! As someone from NY, this place just hits in all the right places. Perfect crust, the right flavors in the sauce, toppings that taste fresh and “real,” and the pizza parlor vibe found all throughout the northeast. Plus they have nightly specials that are actually worth it. Definitely worth checking out and I would highly recommend!
