The environment here is very inviting and unique! We have been here almost 10 times now so I feel I can leave a good review. We are always greeted and seated promptly. We have never had to wait. Actually the restaurant has never been full when we’ve gone but I believe this is actually due to their fast service rather than a reflection of the food. The waiters are excellent and the food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable. There are multiple artistic touches and photo ops throughout the restaurant. They do have some outdoor seating. The bathrooms are nice and clean.

A convenient neighborhood Mexican spot but truly good food! Our go to spot for Mexican food since it opened in mission!

Terrific food and service. We had a large group and they got everything out, on time and perfectly executed. I will definitely go back!

Campesino’s is the real deal!! Authentic Mexican cuisine served fast, fresh, and with a smile. It’s a bit outside our usual circle of weekend travel, but we will definitely take people here in the future.

I was excited to try out a new place.. It was very packed so that gave it a good sign of it being delicious. Atmosphere/service was great. The margarita flight all tasted the same with no alcohol. I was not impressed. The server was nice to add more tequila. The food was not great. The consomé had no flavoring.

The star of the show was the boss margarita, It was absolutely delicious. I wish I could say the same for the food, but it was not impressive. I ordered a beef taco salad, and my wife ordered the crispy tacos, also beef. Both items had completely flavorless ground beef in them, it was like they didn’t even bother to season it. If I ever go back to this place it will be for another boss margarita and I’ll likely skip the food.

Just came from here with my staff of 8. Last Friday we were there for lunch and things were great. Tonight we were at the restaurant and started with appetizers and pitchers of margaritas. Started great until I had to ask for napkins. They accommodated this request. Then everyone placed an order waiter was told all one check. Our food came out within 5 minutes 10 at the most. The food was mediocre. No silverware to eat. I was sure the waiter would return with this. It did not happen. A staff member went upfront and helped herself to get us silverware. I had literally taken two bites before the waiter started adding if we wanted to go boxes. Never asked is everything okay or how is the food tasting? I was disappointed told the waiter we just begun to eat! He next brought the check. Did not see him again. We will not be back. After we left we all stood in the parking lot. I was asking all to rate the good and service. An overall disappointment to all. This is sad close to our business and thought it was a great place to gather. Time to give business to another restaurant. If I tasted my customers the way we were treated tonight I eould not have a business.

We were in the area so we popped in for a late lunch so, not very busy. The parking lot is very busy as it serves many retail spots and the parking spots are narrow.
Initial reaction was very positive. Very clean, wide open view, nice matching heavy wood furniture, great artwork, nice bar and several TV’s.
Service was very good. Attentive and eager to provide a positive experience. Slight language barrier with server but we worked through it.
The food was so-so.
The chips were of the thicker variety (not our favorite) and the regular salsa was a bit bland. I asked for their spicy version and found the heat perfect (I’ve toned down my need for hot heat as I’ve gotten older so some may still find it is not hot enough) but it also has a bit too much smoke flavor.
The main dish we shared was a 2 burrito plate that consisted of a shredded chicken burrito and beef/bean burrito. We added white cheese sauce over the top instead of the standard red sauce (that was an undisclosed upcharge of $2.50). We asked if we could have red on one and white sauce on the other and the server indicated that the chefs can’t/don’t do that. No biggie. BTW, they can’t/won’t put one burrito on one plate and the other burrito on a different plate either. Again, no biggie. But I will say, for the restaurants that do this as a service/convenience do not go unappreciated!
The chicken in the burrito was very bland and seems as though no seasoning was used. Same for the beef burrito. It seems like they are relying on the toppings (cheese sauce, lettuce, tomato and sour cream) to fill out the flavor profile for the dish. Give us some authentic flavor please. Lastly, the flour tortillas were weirdly chewy. Hard to cut through and hard to chew.
Campesino is what I would catoragize as a next level Mexican restaurant compared to your run of the mill Mexican joints. The atmosphere is nicer, the appointments are nicer, presentation of food MIGHT be nicer, etc. However, prices are higher than run of the mill joints. I feel like you’re paying for the atmosphere but getting the same or lessor tasting food.

We’ve been looking for a new favorite Mexican restaurant since Taqueria Mexico #1 closed. One of our other favorite restaurants, Lucky Brewgrille, used to occupy the same building as Campesino’s, so we gave it a try. Wow, best we’ve had in a very long time. We especially enjoyed the chimichanga. The refried beans side are one the best we’ve had. The chips & salsa are only average, but everything else we had was awesome. Our server was very genuinely cheerful and attentive.

I was so excited when they first opened, and things were great back then, but lately the service has been slow and it has taken ages to order or get refills. At other restaurants I’ll order a few drinks, but I usually only have the chance to order one here. I thought eating inside would be better than the patio, but they’re pretty similar. I do enjoy the food but I had to stop going because I was getting frustrated with the service. 🙁

Great neighborhood spot for Tex Mex! We went on a Taco Tuesday for the special – tacos were underwhelming but it is a great deal! Four tacos for 8 bucks! Meanwhile the chips and salsa were plentiful and pretty good and the margaritas were absolutely outstanding. Looking forward to going again to try some of the regular menu items (Tacos Al Pastor perhaps??) and some more of the amazing margaritas. Will definitely return and report back!
