My husband and I recently visited Portland, and stayed at the Courtyard. We paid extra in order to include breakfast with our stay. I highly recommend you eat somewhere else. Nearby breakfast eaters offer much better service with more options at the same price, or even cheaper. Our first morning there, our server said that people forget to tip when they use the breakfast coupons, so we made sure to tip. Despite the fact that he forgot to bring us water and messed up our order. Regardless, the whole exchange was friendly enough. The next morning we had to go eat somewhere else because the server on that day (and again, only one person working) was clearly overwhelmed. While we were waiting a few minutes to even be sat as the server requested (despite the sign saying to seat yourself) we watched two table get up and leave because they had not been served. Our final morning there, for the sake of convenience before heading to the airport, we had our original server. It seems he completely forgot who we were, or simply decided to be surly with us. Again, he messed up our order and never brought us water despite our asking for it. I waited table for several years, and this restaurant does not even need very much in order to improve the overall experience. Do better.
