Reviews
Unacceptable behavior — deeply disrespectful and discriminatory.
I rarely leave reviews, but what happened here made me feel deeply unsafe, disrespected, and dehumanized — and I feel a responsibility to speak up.
I stopped by this sushi From the moment I entered, the restaurant staff — including servers, kitchen workers, and possibly the owner — began loudly discussing my gender in Mandarin, assuming I wouldn’t understand. They didn’t whisper or joke quietly — they projected, making no attempt to hide their comments.
Then it escalated. After I ordered a beer and handed over my ID, they looked at my gender and age — and laughed. One said, “Must be desperate — take off the pants and we’ll know.” Another responded, “Just take off the top.”
This is not just inappropriate — this is targeted, gender-based verbal harassment. I was a lone diner, simply trying to enjoy a quiet meal. I left feeling humiliated, objectified, and unsafe.
To the owners: It doesn’t matter if you were the one saying these things or if it was your employees — when such behavior comes from your staff and happens openly in your establishment, and no one steps in to stop it, you are absolutely responsible. A restaurant should be a safe, welcoming space for all — especially for LGBTQ+ and gender nonconforming individuals. What I experienced was the opposite: targeted, public dehumanization.
If you care about your customers, your reputation, and your values — you must do better.
And to anyone who believes in LGBTQ+ safety, gender equality, and basic human dignity — I strongly urge you to think twice before supporting this place.
Overall, good food at relatively low price. Highly recommend the combo specials to get soup /salad with your entrée.
I get the “all you can eat special” But for the past couple of times that I’ve been here, there seems to be an attitude once you tell them that’s what you want. Normally we get the first round OK, but when it’s time to order and get your second round of rolls it just takes forever, but it doesn’t make any sense for CJ fusion across town (one guy making sushi) to be way faster, and friendlier (these guys have at least two or three guys making sushi).
Took about 20 minutes to get my second round, they haven’t been to my table to even ask me if everything is OK. They’re not that busy!
maybe I’m getting emotional because I’m so hungry but Definitely not happy at all right now…
