Reviews
From the moment we arrived at the front door, to the elevator ride, to being seated, to being served, every interaction was professional, but extremely welcoming.
The interior of the restaurant is warm and elegant, but lets the view speak for itself.
We enjoyed the five-course lunch menu paired with champagne. The champagne was sublime and the dishes were exquisitely presented and bursting with flavor with each course better than the last.
The servers were thoughtful, efficient, and attentive.
We have been fortunate to dine at many Michelin-Star restaurants all over the world and our experience at Jules Verne is among the most memorable!
One final note: We strongly recommend adhering to the Jules Verne dress code which requires “an elegant outfit” and specifically notes “jackets are mandatory for gentlemen.” Why? Dressing nicely demonstrates respect for the elegant space, the professional servers, the chefs who prepare the exquisite dishes, and your fellow diners who may be enjoying a once in a lifetime restaurant experience.
We were seated in the main dining room with a full view of the Parisian landscape and absolutely breathtaking.
After the meal we were given a brief tour of the restaurant and then were guided to the observation deck to soak in the view.
This is one of the best things we did during our European tour and an experience we will never forget. Would recommend it highly to anyone visiting the City of lights.
The cuisine was excellent, no missteps, small servings, set menu.
They are known for their langoustine ravioli with beetroot jelly, which was a very nice and unique presentation.
A scallop with puff tapioca was also quite pleasant.
It is certainly at the high end of cost, but it is quite the experience. The service was excellent, the dining experience was quite pleasant. expect to spend 3 hours for lunch.
The entrance is in the southeast entrance of the Eiffel Tower, entrance 1.
The service from the begging to end is astonishing, the private elevator experience , all the stuff we’re so nice and welcoming.
The food was great, but the most important is the view and its unique location.
I totally recommend this place for specific occasions.
Overall, immaculate presentation and masterful cooking. Highly recommended.
Visited: Last Night | Michelin: ★★ (deserving of ★★★)
I booked our reservation exactly 90 days in advance, knowing how difficult it is to secure a table at Le Jules Verne on short notice. The reservation process was smooth, with immediate confirmation and a helpful reminder a week prior.
My daughter and I arrived at 7:00 PM and were greeted at the base of the Eiffel Tower, then escorted to the private guest elevator. Being the first to ascend in the intimate seven-person lift felt special and set the tone for the night.
We were seated at a window table overlooking Paris, offering one of the most breathtaking views imaginable. The dining room is immaculate, beautifully designed, and maintained to the highest standards.
Service
The service was flawless from start to finish—attentive but never intrusive, polished yet warm. Every course arrived with perfect pacing, and we always felt looked after without ever feeling rushed.
Cuisine & Wine
Every dish was prepared to absolute perfection. The flavor balance, presentation, and temperature were all spot-on. I added the wine supplement, and the pairings were exceptional—elevating each course and showing real mastery by the sommelier. If I enjoyed the wines a bit more generously than intended, they were worth every sip.
Michelin Rating
Le Jules Verne currently holds two Michelin stars, but based on my experience—and having dined at several three-star restaurants worldwide—I genuinely believe it is operating at a three-star level. The combination of technique, service, location, and consistency merits that elevation at the next review.
Overall
I found no faults whatsoever with the evening.
Not with the food, the service, the ambiance, the timing, or the setting. It was a spectacular and memorable dinner shared with my daughter, and one that I would gladly repeat on our next visit to Paris.
Le Jules Verne delivers an experience fully worthy of its iconic location—and in my opinion, worthy of its future third Michelin star.
I had high expectations for Le Jules Verne, given its reputation and price, but the lunch was disappointing overall.
Service & personnel
From the moment we arrived, the service felt staged rather than genuinely welcoming. The staff were formally polite yet carried an undertone of arrogance, as if questions or requests were slightly inconvenient. For a two-star Michelin restaurant, I expected warmth and attentiveness, not distant superiority.
Seating & view – reservation not respected
Although we had reserved a table in the main dining area, we were seated elsewhere, facing mostly metal beams and interior tower machinery instead of the expected Paris view. This felt careless and, frankly, somewhat discriminatory, with no effort made to correct the situation. At these prices, this is unacceptable.
Food – elegant plates, very average flavours
The lunch menu highlights premium ingredients like crab, langoustine and farmhouse chicken, but the dishes did not live up to that promise.
Amuse-bouche tart
Nicely presented but flavourless, more decorative than culinary.
Crab/shellfish velouté
Pleasant texture, but the taste was flat and lacked definition. For a dish supposedly showcasing crab, it had little character.
Langoustine course
The langoustines were cooked well, yet the flavours were muted. What should have been a highlight felt bland and lacked depth or contrast.
Farmhouse chicken
Beautifully plated but ordinary in taste. The sauces were heavy and overwhelmed the meat instead of enhancing it.
Mashed potatoes & caviar croquette
Smooth but bland mash, and a small fried bite topped with caviar that looked luxurious but delivered little flavour. More style than substance.
Dessert
Visually appealing but overly sweet and lacking complexity. A nice photo, but an uninspiring end to an expensive meal.
Overall, the food was technically neat but emotionally empty, with nothing leaving a real impression or justifying the high cost.
Bill & payment – no bill, no change
The experience ended poorly. After paying in cash, we were not given the bill back, and the change was never returned until we explicitly asked. Even then, it was handled without apology. For a restaurant of this category, this is unacceptable.
Conclusion – not value for money
Between the cold service, the poor table despite a main-dining reservation, the average food hidden behind elegant presentation, and the unprofessional handling of payment, this lunch was far from value for money. For the price and reputation of Le Jules Verne, I expected a memorable experience. Instead, it is a place I would not choose again and cannot recommend.
The overall dishes continue the style of his other restaurants, though this location feels noticeably lighter and fresher.
The biggest advantage of this restaurant seems to be that you can enter the Eiffel Tower without queuing.
You take a private elevator directly to the second floor, and after visiting the tower you can also use the restaurant’s elevator to leave — no need to squeeze into the tourist elevators.
As for the dishes, the savoury courses are all excellent, but the desserts fall short.
Of course, this may simply be due to my personal preference — if you like rhubarb, you could easily add another point to the rating.
Amuse Bouche ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
White asparagus panna cotta — a crispy shell encasing white asparagus custard, aromatic and refreshing.
White asparagus foie gras mousse — the asparagus foam is light and fresh, paired with foie gras that is rich but not heavy.
Lobster ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Apple foam is sweet-and-sour and refreshing; the lobster meat is firm, bouncy, and tender.
Scallop ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Crispy outside and tender inside, savoury and fragrant.
The scallop filling is flavourful, and the sauce carries a full mushroom umami.
Langoustine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The sauce is creamy; the langoustine is served semi-cooked — bouncy with a soft centre, very sweet.
Turbot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The sauce is rich but balanced with sweet-and-sour notes; the turbot is firm, fresh, and slightly sweet, with a hint of yuzu aroma.
Lamb ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The lamb is cooked slightly over, but still juicy.
Paired with greens that give the dish a bit of Chinese-cuisine inspiration.
Mature Cheese ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Strong black truffle aroma, airy texture, and so much cheese it stretches — extremely satisfying.
Rhubarb ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The combination of yogurt and rhubarb feels a bit odd; personally I’m not a fan of this flavour.
Chocolate ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The “ice cream” is slightly sour; the cocoa powder texture is a bit strange.
The traditional soufflé is soft and fluffy with a rich chocolate depth.
Petit Four ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Orange tartlet is sweet-and-sour, though the jam’s flavour is a bit odd.
Salted caramel cream — quite tasty.
