Stopped into TGI Friday’s in Chicago and had a really solid experience. The atmosphere was upbeat and welcoming — a great mix of energy without feeling overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy good conversation, and actually hear the people at your table.

The service was especially impressive. The staff was genuinely friendly, attentive without hovering, and made sure we had everything we needed. You could tell they wanted everyone to have a good time.

Happy hour is definitely a highlight. The drink specials were excellent — great variety, well-made cocktails, and prices that make it easy to stay for another round. It’s a fantastic spot to unwind after work or meet up with friends.

Overall, a very enjoyable visit. I’d definitely return next time I’m in Chicago.

What really stands out is the consistency: you know exactly what you’re getting, and it delivers visit after visit. Friendly service, upbeat energy, and dependable quality make this Michigan Avenue TGI Friday’s a spot I’m always happy to return to.

I have not been here in a long time. I went here pretty late on a Saturday night and close to closing time with some family from out of town, after hanging out downtown. I want to give a BIG THANK YOU TO THE STAFF who was working the late shift on 8/16/25 for being very welcoming, accommodating and still very friendly and helpful with us coming in very last minute, even if there were like three other tables full of people at the time. They were nice and kind while we were ordering our food and drinks. Drinks and food were good and we all had a very good experience. Thanks again. Would recommend.

Mireya was a great server she went above and beyond to make our first TGI Fridays experience great! We went in for the happy hour which you can’t really beat in the downtown area, definitely will be back for more drinks! Food was pretty good but nothing spectacular.

We had such a wonderful experience at Friday’s! Tatiana was our server and she was absolutely amazing — friendly, attentive, and provided excellent customer service from start to finish. She checked on us consistently and made sure everything was just right. The food was delicious and came out perfectly!

I also want to give a special shout-out to Jen, the manager, for going above and beyond to accommodate my daughter, who has autism. She honored my request to seat us in a quieter area to help prevent sensory overload, and that level of understanding truly meant so much to our family.
Thank you for creating an inclusive and welcoming environment. We truly appreciate it and will definitely be back!

The food has changed for the better! It is warm and cozy unlike all the other restaurants I’ve been in. Therir so cold you can’t even enjoy your meal. Not here temperature is perfect for relaxing and enjoying your meal properly! Manager Jennifer is definitely thinking about the people! Was seated immediately by the polite hpstess and for the entire 30 minutes we sat and waited we only received silverware from the hostess. 0 server interaction. Not even a water or acknowledgement. For 30 minutes. And it was surprisingly was not high volume at all

We drove from St. Louis for New Year’s festivities.. decided to eat here because we came over the summer and service was wonderful. It was the best thing I have ever eaten. Our server was wonderful at that time. Fast forward to last night was a party of three. We walked in the door and stood there for about 15 minutes and then a young lady came and literally just said how many I said three she walked away, grabbed three menus so we followed her. She literally threw the menus on the table and walked away. We were in a booth and the seat was not cleaned. We sat and waited for about another 20 minutes and then the bartender who wound up being our server came to get drinks. Mind you it was not especially busy, but I thought it was weird that the bartender had to wait tables. She wound up being our same server from the summer. The drinks were horrible. Mine was supposed to be multicolored. I forget the name of it, but it only has two colors in it so they let me know something was missing. Our daughter had the sangria, which was trash and the other person drink was really watered and full of ice. We waited another 30 minutes for our food to come out because the bartender was making drinks the entire. As we were waiting, we noticed a group of about six come through the door. They waited for about 20 minutes, One of the gentlemen approached the lady that we assumed was the manager because she was dressed professional, and she spoke up and said the manager will be there to see you in a second. She has the long red hair… That’s who sat us.. So the manager is the one that had the bad attitude??? After about five more minutes, they wound up walking out. We noticed the Manager was standing back watching them and we were wondering why she didn’t seat them. When our food did come out, the broccoli on both of our salmon plates was room temperature, the rice was very sticky and the cheese on the macaroni and cheese was not even melted. My daughter got the burger she asked for it to be medium well and it was medium, but palatable. Our bill was only $122 but this was the worst service and the worst food I have had in a long time. I do come to Chicago quite often, but I definitely will not return here.

I have travelled to over 11 countries and more than 40 cities around the world, and this was by far one of the worst dining experiences and choices I have ever made.

The gentleman at the bar was completely unhelpful. When I asked to order food to dine in, he instructed me to place the order at another counter around the corner. After doing so, the order was processed as takeout, even though I clearly intended to sit and eat at the restaurant. As a result, the food had to be transferred onto a plate, and it was poorly and carelessly presented.

I was then asked by the manager to sit in an isolated area where no other guests were seated. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable, embarrassed, and, frankly, racially discriminated against.

The food itself was equally disappointing. The food was cold, the fries were overly salty, and the creamy pasta was unpleasant and poorly prepared. Although I was very hungry, I could only manage a few spoonfuls before leaving the rest untouched.

Additionally, I ordered a drink that was never delivered. When I followed up with a member of staff, I was instead given a completely different drink without explanation.

Overall, the entire experience was deeply unpleasant and unacceptable. This is not the kind of experience anyone should have, and it is certainly one I never expected. I have never written a review like this before, but I cannot let this incident go unaddressed.
