Got some take out from Parkway Tavern a while ago. They’ve got a good assortment of options. I got the Rueben Eggrolls, which were outstanding. Taste just like a Rueben sandwich only a different take on it. I got the Sunshine Chicken Wrap, which the pineapple mango salsa, really set it apart. Also definitely worth a try. I got the Chimichurri sandwich, this one was good, not great, but if you are into chimichurri I wouldn’t say don’t get it. I got the Quesadillas, which were really tasty. Lastly I got the Blackened Blue Burger, which was mediocre. Probably my least favorite out of the lot, it just didn’t have as much flavor to it then I thought it would. The sides I got were the fried onion strings, which were good, the pesto pasta salad, which was alright and the fresh home fries which were that great. I would still recommend going here.

Good food. Enjoy the loaded cheese fries appetizer and blackened chicken sandwich. My only wish is if they would have a better selection of IPA beers on draft. Seems they experiment with too many new beers versus regular best selling IPAs like Mountain Candy, Two Hearted, Pernicious, Maine Lunch, Hop Drop and Roll, Tropical Lighting, etc…

I will definitely be back to try other menu options, just not the Ruben the bread was way too hard, very skimpy on sauerkraut and dressing. Other than that everything else was great. Burger cooked perfect. The appetizers are great. Mac and cheese looked like Kraft and drinks were great. On another note they have televisions everywhere and if possible will accommodate seating towards your teams game if possible.

Bartender was great and very attentive! We tipped her accordingly. Tacos were great! Dip sandwich was amazing! But the hand cut fries were burned and atrocious. I work in a kitchen, should have checked my order before I left.

The food was amazing. Truly a hidden gem. If you get nothing else, GET THE ONION RINGS with ranch!! The BBQ burger was also great.

I have celiac disease and brought in my own food to eat after 1. Examining the menu online and in person, 2. Witnessing the food coming out of the kitchen 3. Using my gluten-free restaurant app to see where it ranked. 4. Using my own intuition and personal knowledge of having over a decade of living gluten-free after being diagnosed with celiac disease, an autoimmune condition recognized by the ADA.

Upon bringing in my own food, the waitress/bartender was kind and gave me silverware. The bar manager came out and said that I cannot eat that here. I replied with “Actually, I can. I have celiac disease and I am allowed, by law, to bring my own food in if a restaurant cannot provide safe and a reasonable accommodation.” The bar manager replied, “Well I can refuse service to anyone.” After some condescending and ignorant back and forth and me refuting his uneducated statements, a friend – who is a regular there, tried to offer solutions (I put my food on a plate so it doesn’t look as “off-putting”, I eat outside.” I said, “No I’ll just leave but know you’re in violation of the ADA” (J.D. v. Colonial Williamsburg Foundation)

“This is a bad look for our business.” – bar manager
I told him I understand but I have a disability and you cannot guarantee food free of cross-contamination. I have brought my own food into several establishments and they do not have a problem because they understand the law.
“I don’t like your tone and how you answered when I told you that you couldn’t bring in your own food.” – bar manager
I expressed that I don’t care, my tone is calm, but I know my rights.

The bar manager then asked to see the law and proceeded to tell me, “I have a friend who comes into here and she has celiac and eats here and is fine.” I told him that he does realize no two persons with a disease are the same and that there is a wide spectrum of people and there’s varying signs, symptoms, and reactions to celiac. (Would you ever tell a person with cancer their reactions and treatment should be exactly the same as someone else you know?)

By this time I was emotionally overwhelmed by the invalidation, gaslighting, ignorance and frank rudeness of the manager that I left along with one other person.

So while I can’t rate the food, I can say that the manager creates an ableist, egotistical and unwelcoming environment and that this establishment is not safe for celiacs.

My ginger ale was good and the waitresses and bartenders were friendly. One even rolled her eyes and said, “is he seriously throwing a fit about this?” Other patrons seemed to be having a good time and the guy next to me said, “That korma looks delicious!”

Safe to say I will not be returning.

Ordered wings; half with white BBQ and the other half in teriyaki. The teriyaki was the favorite. It had ginger which made the wings popped. I recommend.

Hubby ordered the chicken tenders with the fried potato salad. We’re wondering what the latter was. It’s fried diced potatoes with potato salad (?) On top. Interesting combo.

Not too many people on a Thursday night; will play darts the next time.

Parkway Tavern is a feel-good bar in Cary with a sneakily great menu. It’s true what they say about their burger – it’s the best in the area. But I wanted to try out something different this time. So I got a chicken sandwich with a side of pasta in a light pesto blend… hit the spot

Bartenders are fantastic and you could also shoot some darts, commandeer the jukebox, sing karaoke and, of course, catch all your local sports games. What’s not to love?

I enjoy this place. It is a cool local bar. They have darts. And they have weekly specials from drinks and or food. On this particular night we went for karaoke which wasn’t planned and unexpected but great. I ordered a lemon pepper wings. Those were great. And then I ordered the white barbecue wings and the sweet Asian wings. I did not care for the white barbecue wings. The white barbecue wings is mayonnaise and barbecue sauce together. The Asian wings were okay and needed salt. I definitely will not get the white barbecue wings again. We had a great time there.

A good place to hang out with fun atmosphere. We have been waiting for it to be open since we saw the sign on Cary Parkway last year. The place doesn’t disappoint us. The location is convenient with plenty of parking spots, the staff are friendly, the food is good and the price is decent — no kid’s menu yet but they offer grilled cheese as seen in the picture. We have been there quite a few times since we live nearby and we’ve always enjoyed everything we’ve ordered. There are two dartboards and a few games available. There is also an ATM. There are TVs for sports and news as well. Recommended.
