We ate at Granite City Food & Brewery (the one in the Legends area near Lenexa/Kansas City) yesterday, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in a while.
The food was straight-up awful—bland, poorly prepared, and nothing like what we’d expect from a place that promotes “scratch-made” dishes. We had the pretzels with beer cheese and loaded fries(i forget the name). They both didn’t taste fresh or flavorful at all; it felt like low-effort chain food at best.
Service was even worse—slow, inattentive, and our server seemed checked out the whole time.
The biggest letdown was the drinks. I ordered two Flying Monkeys (their signature cocktail with lemon vodka, peach/strawberry schnapps, and lemonade), which I’ve seen hyped as a bestseller. I couldn’t taste any alcohol at all—it tasted exactly like plain lemonade or juice with a bit of fruit flavor. For the price, that’s unacceptable, especially at a brewery/restaurant known for drinks.
We left disappointed and still hungry. With so many better options around the area, I doubt we’ll be back. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Great food and very amazing staff. Super cute atmosphere. Great for date nights. I am excited to go back try more of the things. Server was super attentive and patient while I asked a million questions about what was in everything. They even split our plates for us since we both wanted to try a little of each. Overall a great experience.

This place is soooo cute! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The bartender, Pierce, was 10 stars! Attentive, knowledgeable and polite. We are visitors and he embraced us like we have been coming here forever. Spinach artichoke dip was yummy. We also ordered the bleu peppercorn burger and the bbq chicken pizza. Everything was amazing!

We went here for a work celebration dinner and holy cow- delicious food in Huge Portions, friendly wait staff and attentive service! The whole table enjoyed our orders and left full, and with leftovers for lunch the next day! The holiday cocktails were delightful too!

I stopped by for a late lunch. My server, Myles, was amazing from start to finish. He answered all my questions in great detail and was very helpful when I asked for suggestions.
The food was delicious. I highly recommend the Crispy Baja Fish Tacos. They are messy, so ask for extra napkins. My drink was a raspberry lemonade and it was excellent.

They had some awesome specials on delicious food and pitchers of their on site brews! That was a delightful surprise! Try the$25 special for 2. They were busy, but the place is very spacious so there was no problem being seated. Our server, Christian, did an excellent job and everything we tried was delicious!

My chicken pot pie was delicious and the rest of my family said their food was good as well with exception of the dinner nachos that my daughter wasn’t happy with and the dried up Kraft mac n cheese in the kids meal.. And to begin with our server was great but then another big group (there were 14 of us) and we had to go fish as far as refills on any of our drinks.

Good food and generous servings . My husband and I weren’t familiar with this establishment so we asked our server Jessica what she recommended. Jessica was very pleasant and made great suggestions which we ordered for our main entrees – Chicken Toscano and the Whiskey-Glazed Salmon. We also ordered Balsamic glazed Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer. Everything was very delicious and we were given so much food that we couldn’t even finish it. I also tried their own made White Peach Seltzer., again a Jessica suggestion. Yum! Will definitely return again if we are in the area.
Only suggestion is to not have the same sports channel on all the tvs in the bar area.

My wife and I went here on Halloween night. We sat at the bar, as we like the atmosphere better. I went with the recommendation of the bartender.. Chicken Tuscano. It was more like thin chicken strips over cooked and dry. The mashed potatoes were lumpy but good.. not what I’m used to.. so many be it’s supposed to be lumpy? The green beans where more on the raw side for my preference. The drinks were good though. Why the negative review? The bartender started off good, but then he took a huge shot with a blonde waitress. I’ve never seen that , so it took me off guard. Then about 30 mins later, he took another shot. Another shot with the blonde waitress 30 mins later , this time my wife saw that and commented ” are they supposed to be drinking on the clock”? I told her that was the 3 shot he has taken since we were there. Soon the blonde waitress was off the clock and sat with a group of others at the end of the bar and when the bartender went to the back, she got a draft beer for someone in her group.. Does management normally allow their employees to drink on the clock? At that point we were really to leave and I could clearly hear from the bartender voice that them shots were kicking in. So to wrap this up, the food was below average for the price I paid, and your bartender needs to go to rehab. He clearly has a drinking problem. From how casual he was about it, I can tell he and the blonde waitress have been doing this awhile and it has become a routine to them. management you should invest in cameras. You should trust your employees, but you should also be able to verify. Do an inventory of your alcohol I bet you you’re short.

The food was so good, as always! Brent was very helpful and very personable! The prime rib was melt in your mouth tender! The only complaint would be that they don’t have eggs benedict on the Sunday morning buffet ( there are so many other wonderful things to choose from, but the eggs benedict has always been my favorite).
