This business is a scam. Don’t pick the AYCE or don’t go here. It’s just rice and rice and it’s not good. I can’t finish either 1 dish. Before give them the order, i asked how many pieces/order, they told me 2 pieces/order but it’s 8 pieces/order and 1 piece is the haft size of a regular rice bow. I want to check the camera but they didn’t agree. They told me why don’t see carefully at the menu. But i don’t really understand that why i was ask directly to them. They told me must to pay $64 extra for the leftovers and i can take all home. My son is 5 years old was charged for $21/kid. I usually eat the AYCE sushi restaurant in Hungtinton Beach, it’s so good and doesn’t have a lot of rice comparing to this place. I feel like i was trapped and was scam by them in here… poor business! The sushi in sam club is better than here! The bill was 300 for low quality sushi, I don’t really recommend.

We ate here twice during our visit to the area. First time family took us here as it’s their favorite restaurant and we had a fabulous dinner. Second, we came back with the rest of the family for dinner for 12 and again we all had great service and food. Most of their rolls are huge and very creative, and the bento meals are also very good and large portions. My husband is gluten free and they offer gluten free soy sauce and their miso soup is also gluten free. Their green tea is also very good.

Overall great experience and service and great location. I live in LA and found this sushi place when I came over to Irvine. The servers were attentive and great at serving. The rolls that I got were Eel Special Roll, Garlic Albacore Roll, Irvine Roll, Baked Spicy Langostino Roll, Harbor Roll which were all amazing 🙂 But my favorite are Irvine Roll and Garlic Albacore Roll. <3 Each roll was unique to this sushi restaurant and the flavors hit the spot.
Their fish are fresh which you can see from the colors especially the sashimi and poke salad were really goood. The tempura were well fried 🙂 The teriyaki on the chicken teriyaki is made in the house which was a classic. Last, but not least seafood teppanyaki really complimented the meal with cooked stir fried vegetables. 🙂 I will definitely take my friends and family again when I visit Irvine <3

This place was amazing, the vibe was great, the customer service was amazing and the prices were pretty good (roughly $13-$18 for each roll). The prices are definitely worth it as the food quality was amazing. 10/10 would definitely come here again.

Back for my second go around at Maizuru. While I wait for my food I’ll leave a quick review. I’ll start with the food…by far my new favorite sushi spot in Irvine!! Fish is fresh and rolls are delicious. Ok enough of the food because what is second to none here is the service. All staff is friendly and super attentive!! Like quite literally the best service of any restaurant in OC. Will keep coming back for more. Ok food is here, going to eat now

I didn’t like the food or the service! I tried 4 rolls, 1 was ok, 3 were not good at all, the nigiri was ok. The waitress kept telling me all the AYCE rules like i was a student in class, that i need to eat everything before i order the 2nd round, and that i will pay $2 for any piece i leave even if just rice. So, when i told her i need to order more nigiri for my son, she said we had to wait until we finish everything first! This never happened to me in any other AYCE place.
And of course there were leftovers because the food was not good!

We were attended to quite quickly and service staffs are friendly. We went there twice in a week and ordered the same food (sashimi mainly) as they are fresh and thickly sliced. Also, as we don’t really like the tuna in US (as compared to Asia quality) they were able to accommodate and replaced it. Price is decent as well. Will recommend this place for casual dining.

Great sushi place in Irvine. I highly recommend checking out this place! The portions are great and make sense! I really liked their sushi and sashimi combo! The fish was very fresh! I was a patient at Hoag Irvine. For lunch I decided to have delivery from this Japanese restaurant.
All I can say was that I’m glad I did.
The sushi was very tasty and fresh with nice size portions. I’ll be back with friends minus the hospital stay.
