I thought it was a pretty good place to eat. Our waitress was friendly and attended to everything we needed. The bathrooms were clean &The food was good, although we had to send a few things back to get warmed up.

Were told about this restaurant by the front desk clerk of our hotel … and she was right about those place!
All three of us had steaks here a week ago, and they were all prepared just the way we like them, ladies medium and me medium rare.
I read some fairly negative online reviews about this restaurant before we came here, but I was pleasantly surprised at both the quality of our food as well as the prices on the cheque. We’re just not used to paying $13 for a tasty skillet steak with roasted potatoes and pan-fried mushrooms (which my wife loved!) here in Ontario, the price would most likely be double that.
While the decor could potentially use a little sprucing up … our waitress was friendly and helpful, the drinks, apps and mains all arrived on time.
We all really enjoyed our meal … and if daughter makes it to AU, we’ll be back many more times!

We visit Jake’s pretty regularly. We have been going here for over 10 years now and really like the food, atmosphere and service. Like all places, it has its ups and downs.
If I’m alone or with adults, I always sit in the bar. The servers in there are more attentive and experienced. They keep your glass full and seem to be more on top of it.
The restaurant part is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is quick and hot, others it’s slow and usually wrong. This week everything was warm but slow. It was Saturday night but we noticed that when we were being seated, there were 10+ people waiting for a table but a bunch of open tables. We assumed it was to make sure the kitchen did not fall behind.
I would recommend the mushrooms as an appetizer, they’re awesome. The sandwiches are very good as well. I do miss the lasagna. I also like their beer selection, it has a nice selection of craft taps and sometimes surprise me with a really good one.

Amazing food and service!!! My husband and I where passing through and wanted a steak house. We found Jacks on google and thought we would try it out. So GLAD We did!!! The food was fantastic, our server, was knowledgeable and very sweet, and the food came out fast. The place was well kept and clean. We didn’t even have to wait for a table!!!! We are so glad we stopped!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!- All the way from Buffalo, NY

Always a good dinner here. Great for families, wide menu with lots of choices. Salad greens are fresh! They’re known for good steaks and burgers. Nice well-stocked bar. Efficient, pleasant waitstaff.

Took the family out for dinner first time ever at Jake’s. Got seated pretty quick and was greated very promptly. Waitress was very friendly and informed about the menu. Placed the order and was out in average time. The food was okay. Soft drinks over priced, would need to try again to give fair assessment.

Visited this restaurant per the recommendation of the hotel staff. Terrible service!! They weren’t busy, but we stood at the hostess desk for about 10 minutes while they chatted among themselves. Once seated and order placed, the waitress NEVER returned, accept to deliver food. Had to get up to seek utensils and napkins. NO refill of drinks, no checking to see if we needed anything further… Nothing! After and hour and a half, I had to ask for our check so we could leave. The waitress acted as if I inconvenienced her by asking for the check.
Food was just medicore, at best. Our bill was over $60 for the two of us and we left most of the food in the plates. Will never return and would not recommend to others. Absolutely disappointing.

We came here for grandpa’s birthday, with almost 20 people. It was loud and crowded which was not their fault. However the water tasted like it had soap in it the first time around. Our waitress was apologetic and got me a new glass which tasted fine, our server was great. We come here once a year because its so far away for us, but to me the food is not super great.

This is a pretty cozy place. If you get into a corner it is not so loud, but even in the center you can carry on a decent conversation. The food is consistently good. With restaurants sometimes it can be a toss up, but Jake’s has a good track record for us. The beer battered mushrooms are the best I have had. I wind up there about once a month and I have always enjoyed my meal.
