We had a truly wonderful evening at Galvin La Chapelle. The food was outstanding from start to finish. Refined, beautifully executed, and clearly driven by an impressive attention to detail. Every course felt thoughtful and intentional, and the overall experience made us feel genuinely special. The elegance of the space only amplifies that feeling. It’s a stunning room and a place that clearly takes pride in excellence.

That said, there were a few moments that slightly broke the magic. We could hear the service director being very harsh with one of the waitstaff several times, right behind our table. We completely understand that a Michelin-starred level of service demands precision and high standards, but those kinds of call-outs would be far better handled discreetly or in private. Hearing it repeatedly made us uncomfortable and genuinely felt bad for the server.

In a bizarrely human and unforgettable twist to the night, we later had two waitstaff members standing behind our table and one of them let out an absolutely legendary fart. It was so unexpected that we couldn’t help but laugh hard. Maybe it was the final personal touch of the evening, certainly memorable and will live forever with us.

All things considered, we had a great night, enjoyed incredible food, first class service and would absolutely recommend the restaurant. We’d happily return and look forward to doing so again soon.

Having been long time fans of the Galvin’s food, we were so pleased when Galvin La Chapelle opened on our doorstep back in 2009.

We dined here on their opening night and have been regular guests since.

It’s been fantastic to enjoy the food here over the years, always precise, technical and tasty. Consistency and standards have remained high.

Service continues to be professional and polite and the dining room is probably my favourite in London.

Today we enjoyed the special Toast and Taste Menu. 5 courses and a drink for only £49. A bargain for Michelin starred cooking in central London.

An easy recommendation for a special lunch in lovey surroundings.

We went to Galvin La Chapelle for the lunch tasting menu.

It was a beautiful restaurant with a warm and stylish decor. The bare ceiling made it especially interesting and a contrast to the aesthetic of the rest of the restaurant. It looks like it may have been a church.

The staff were very attentive and explained each course. The food itself was very interesting with a mixture of flavours and textures which were delightful. I would love to return to try their a la carte menu.

Overall, a very pleasant lunch.

We were given an amazing gift experience at Galvin La Chapelle for a three-course set menu with a glass of sparkling wine, and it was truly wonderful. We went for my birthday, and it made the day feel so special.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and genuinely kind from the moment we arrived. Every member of the team was exceptional. Dom and Matt were so attentive, the maître d’ was wonderfully warm, and the lady who served us dessert was absolutely lovely.

The whole meal was delightful, and we felt so well looked after throughout.
We’ll definitely be coming back.

I came here for dinner by myself.

Overall, this place has a Bailie, unique and magical ambience. The interior of an old chapel is one of the more unique and charming Settings for a restaurant that I have ever seen.

I will say that my expectations were very high, as a place has Michelin star. Overall, the Service was very good, but not extraordinary. The food was excellent, but again – I was not as impressed with the food as I would have expected – I feel the food that I got at sketch. Two nights ago was much more, outstanding, and culinary. Perfect and unique.

Overall, I would be unlikely to return at the Price point, but it is a quality restaurant, and I do feel that it is deserving of it status.

Wonderful dinner experience with a 3-course meal. Even the only kids menu- Chicken breast with potatoes and mushrooms – was amazingly tender and delicious (comment from my little one).
The side dish – potato (foam and crushed) with winter truffle, was a brilliant combination, even better than the main. I mean, who could ever thought of making . potato so interesting?
Loved the dessert as well.
Highly recommend.

Our first visit to Galvin la Chapelle will unfortunately be our last. With good reviews and a decent reputation we were expecting something that just never materialised.

The setting is beautiful, a lovely looking place inside. We opted for the tasting menu (£155), the first course sadly set the tone for the rest of the meal; Oyster with finger limes. The taste rather unpleasant and the pork fat on top so chewy I ended up spitting it out after minutes of attempting to swallow – something I’ve never had to do at a fine dining restaurant before.

The rest of the menu was all very dull, their signature dish of crab ravoilo felt overcooked and pre-made, their monkfish also somewhat unpleasant in texture. We ended the meal with a nice chocolate ganache but it felt like it had been plonked on a plate straight from the freezer.

There were glimpses of sunshine, such as the venison cookery and the chicken liver parfait but that’s about it.

We were cold throughout the meal, were not offered extra drinks (we had to keep asking) and we felt the tables were too close to each other. If I wanted to hear another couples conversation I’d go to Wagamama. The staff were polite and friendly but the service overall was below par in comparison to other top restaurants.

A hefty bill and a belly full of disappointment.

Beautiful setting.
Very attentive staff, in a non-atrustive, friendly way.
Food was delicious and catered to my gluten free vegetarian diet. Even a surprise selection of chocolate at the end to celebrate a special occasion, which was a thoughtful and appreciated touch.
Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful experience.

Mind the steps as you enter – the venue is beautiful and food well presented, but expected a bit more for 1 Michelin star. Went for lunch in a large group. Recommend the baba tiramisu dessert (share with 2 people)

A phenomenal treat. The food, atmosphere and service are always impeccable here. It’s worth signing up to Galvin Club if you enjoy fine dining as they often have set menus at very affordable prices.
