I don’t visit Louisiana very often, but when I do I like to order what I cannot find where I live. This visit included 2 nights in Lafayette. I didn’t arrive from San Antonio until 8pm. fortunately, Don’s Seafood is open until 11pm on Saturday and their dress code, from what I observed, is “jeans casual”. The parking lot was large, and quite full. I told the hostess I could eat at the bar, but she said a table is available. My server was Moe. She was very attentive to my need. I ordered the Crawfish Dinner, which came with Crawfish gumbo, crawfish au gratin, crawfish etoufee’, crawfish scampi, another crawfish item, fried crawfish, stuffed baked potato and hush puppies. I also ordered homemade bread pudding for dessert. Everything was wonderful, except their tartar sauce. I couldn’t wait to get to a toothbrush to get rid of the aftertaste. I expected to pay a lot because I’m on vacation. Dinner was $49 plus 20 percent tip. I highly recommend Don’s!

First of all, our server Christian was truly the best. Attentive without hovering, friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and just made the whole meal feel fun and relaxed. Service like that makes a big difference, and he absolutely delivered. He should get a raise for sure ha!
We started with the jacked up oysters and the boudin balls, and both were packed with flavor. The oysters had the perfect kick, and the boudin balls were crispy on the outside, rich and savory inside.
For mains, we had the fried catfish with rice and beans, and it was comfort food at its finest. Crispy, well seasoned fish and sides that were just as satisfying as the main.
Everything we ordered was so good, and paired with top notch service, it made for an easy 100 percent recommendation. We will definitely be back.

Service is great and the food is delicious! We had crawfish early in the season and it was still great size and tasty. Enjoyed the stuffed catfish. The drinks are good and went well with our meal. Coming back here again on our next trip.

This was our first time eating here..Was visiting family and it did not disappoint. Everything we got. Gumbo, shrimp etouffee, fried alligator to the seafood platter was all so fresh tasting and delicious. Prices were phenomenal also. Definitely will eat here again when visiting

I love coming here for their oysters. I also got a cocktail but it tasted like water and wasnt very strong. Service and oysters here were overall good though! I did have to catch someone’s attention to take my order near the bar but once they came around all was good. I would return here for appetizers.

What an incredible establishment! The service is outstanding, super friendly and attentive. And the food…my goodness! The chicken and andouille sausage gumbo is phenomenal! Their boudin balls are amazing and their crawfish quesadillas were fantastic! And their homemade blueberry cheesecake was absolutely to die for! We had to sit in the bar area so it was pretty loud, but definitely worth it!

Absolutely great place. Warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in. It was very busy, but I only waited about 10 minutes. Jade, my waitress was absolutely great, perfect service, great attitude and personality. I ordered the catfish and shrimp platter (small), and the hush puppies. Hush puppies were fantastic, tarter sauce was the best I’ve had in a very long time. Catfish was was crispy and delicious, shrimp were perfect as well. Don’s will definitely be on my repeat restaurant list. Thank you for the wonderful food and experience.

I loved Don’s Seafood Lafayette, and you will too! An attorney was sitting next to me on my flight said this place was excellent, and my Area Manager confirmed this place was the bomb. Authentic Cajun dining in a beautiful setting. Full bar, excellent food, plenty of parking, and super clean bathrooms. I was impressed that they have cards in the men’s room that say, “if our bathrooms need attention, hand this card to a staffmember”. I had the charbroiled oysters on the half shell, which comes with some garlic butter toast, which was a pleasant surprise. I also had the shrimp platter which came with a cup of wonderful shrimp gumbo, shrimp etoufee, shrimp scampi, fried shrimp (excellent), crab stuffed shrimp, and jacked up shrimp. Oh, forgot the super excellent hush puppies, and tartar sauce. Everything was excellent. My waitress was very attentive, bar was full, and the hostess did a great job. Very hospitable. I will be back as soon as I can.
