We came in at 4:00 PM with a party of 9 because my daughters had raved about this place and wanted to bring their friends. Unfortunately, their first experience was not good.
From the start there was confusion. We were told we could sit in one area, then told we could not and were asked to move so tables could be combined elsewhere. I had to put a card on hold for some strange reason.
Orders were taken, but the server later returned because she forgot to ask how the burgers were to be cooked. Drinks were also mixed up at first.
Food began coming out around 4:45 PM, but burger orders were incorrect. A medium well burger was given to a well done order, and the well done burger was given to the medium rare order, even though the medium rare burger was still being prepared in the kitchen. The food had already been touched and had to be remade. The last food did not arrive until 5:35 PM. The manager acknowledged the service issues and applied a 30 percent discount, which I appreciated. However, a mandatory 20 percent large party gratuity was still charged, even though the service issues affected the entire table and the bills were split. I also later found out the discount was only applied to my bill. We were told the restaurant was short staffed during the holiday season, which should have been planned for. To top it off, the server did not even have pens for us to sign the receipts. This was especially disappointing because my daughters had hyped this place up to their friends. What used to be a favorite spot is no longer somewhere I will return to.
I also want to note that I was under the impression the 30% discount was being applied to the entire party due to the multiple service errors. I later found out it was only applied to my bill, despite the issues affecting everyone at the table. That lack of clarity added to an already frustrating experience.
I also want to note that the 2nd photo attached is from a previous visit, not this one. During that prior visit (Friday, for my birthday), my main issue was that outside seating had no service even though it was the only available option. It was sit-yourself, tables were dirty, and guests had to hover and wait for others to leave. A simple waitlist system—taking names and calling guests when tables open—would prevent customers from having to interrupt others and rush them out of their seats.
I was lucky that the young woman I spoke to that night was kind—it was also her birthday, and we ended up being birthday twins—but the system itself is poorly managed.
I am beyond disappointed. What used to be my go-to spot is no longer a place I will return to.
I ordered All Out on the Gas which was fairly good. I LOVED the Salmon Miso. Salmon was beautifully cooked and the broth and noodles were a nice compliment to the salmon. I enjoyed the spicy peppers. They could have throw in more for my taste but I know I have quite a high spice tolerance. I got pepper flakes were a nice addition for me. Our waitress was really nice and helpful. She even let me charge my phone.
My friend order a pizza and my order friend got the chicken skewers which they both enjoyed. I think my friend was surprised the chicken skewers were over a bed of black rice?
Definitely a fun spot to check out for sunset!
