It is a very small restaurant in a small shopping area, definitely not part of the touristy area. the food was delicious, tastes authentic Mexican food. It is a la carte, ordering at the counter but has sit down tables. price not too expensive. lady at the counter was nice.

The breakfast burritos were great. I got the chorizo and egg, the tortilla was grilled well and the potatoes inside were crispy but soft on the inside. The chorizo was just the right amount of spice and there wasn’t too much egg or cheese. Both of their options for salsa verde were great and the hot was a habañero base I believe which gave it a great kick. Just a little hole in the wall in a strip mall but a nice find on our way into San Diego.

California Burrito Review (7)
Embarking on a quest to rank San Diego’s California Burritos!
Seventh stop: Papas & Tacos Mexican Food.
Product: The burrito was tasty and hot, prepared in just a few minutes. The tortilla and meat were delicious, and the unique addition of large, boiled, then fried potato pieces stood out. The burrito was a standard size, smaller than at other spots. Fresh, flavorful sauces were available. The final price was about average for the city: $13. It was quite crowded. 6 out of 10
Service: Okay, calm interaction. 5 out of 10
Ambiance: Clean and tidy inside. The decor was like a regular cafe, without Mexican touches. Watching landing planes added a fun vibe. 8 out of 10

Neighborhood Mexican food joint
Indoor seating with few spots facing the city scape.
Stopped by for a breakfast burrito on a rainy day in San Diego.
Ordered a sausage potato egg cheese burrito. Ate in, served with two squirty bottles of salsa (green hot and red/ orange medium)
I loved that salsa! Burrito was a big size and delicious. Really hit the spot!.

Ordered TJ tacos Al pastor. Great flavor. Fresh onions and cilantro. Wasn’t thrilled with their hot sauce but I enjoyed my mini tacos. Parking is tough, especially with my work van, but if I could fit, anyone can.

Delicious Street tacos and extremely friendly service. Very happy that we stopped and tried this place! The El Pastor tacos are some of the best I’ve ever tasted, I would highly recommend trying them. Wide variety of tasty drinks too, which was helpful in enjoying the tacos. It may be a bit pricier than other Mexican places or taco stands you’ll find, although I’m not too familiar with San Diego street taco prices. You won’t regret trying this place!

Inauthentic and over priced. 15$ for a limp burrito with no rice. I should have known when none of the patrons were brown people that the food was garbage. I love Mexican and El Salvadoran food this is basically expensive taco bell

Ordered the pollo asado burrito and omg the tortilla was so soft and stretchy, and the chicken tasted like it came straight off the grill. Super juicy and tender. Incredibly fresh veggies in the pico de gallo and the salsa was so flavorful. I was starving and exhausted when I came in, but that burrito solved all my problems.

Ordered two breakfast burritos over the phone the lady was not very personal or helpful over the phone. The burritos were on an online menu for $8.99 then got to the restaurant to pick up my two burritos and ended up paying $34.68 for only two burritos, also never ended up getting a receipt for my order. But all in all the food was great. But not $17 dollars great.

A hidden gem in the heart of Bankers Hill. The service is always excellent. If you are a vegetarian or a meat lover you have a great menu options.
I had the crispy chicken tacos and also tried the veggie burrito. The food was solid. Only negative is that everything is all a cart.
Overall, I’ve been here several times the reason I like to place it in a little shopping center and the service and food is very fast if you’re in a hurry. You have private parking lot and street parking.
