Despite that initial inconvenience, we decided to place a takeout order since it was already quite late. We ordered a variety of dishes, and the food quality was impressive. The flavors were well balanced, and the portion sizes were fair—comfortably filling without being excessive. What stood out during that visit was the kindness of the owner, who came out while closing and spent a few moments speaking with us, which left a positive impression.
On our second visit, we returned for a friend’s birthday dinner and were able to enjoy the full dine-in experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is one of its strongest features. The interior has a cozy, dimly lit atmosphere that gives each table a candlelight-style dining feel, making it ideal for relaxed dinners and small celebrations. The menu is also well organized and easy to navigate, offering a focused selection without feeling overwhelming.
During this visit, we explored a wide range of dishes. The biryanis—particularly the chicken, mutton, and goat biryani—were excellent and generously filled with meat, making them both flavorful and satisfying. We also tried several curries, including Achari Chicken, Chicken Chettinad, Butter Chicken, Chili Chicken, and Mutton Rogan Josh. Each dish was well prepared and flavorful, and they paired nicely with the rice served alongside them.
The kebabs were another highlight; they were nicely crisp on the outside while remaining tender inside. The naan breads complemented the meal well. I did try the dosa, which was softer than the thin, crispy style typically expected, and the accompanying chutneys were fairly simple. However, the rest of the menu more than made up for it with consistently good flavors.
In terms of portions, the servings are satisfying and well suited for a full meal. The pricing is slightly on the higher side compared to some other restaurants, but the quality of the food, the pleasant ambiance, and the attentive service help justify the overall value.
Overall, Tandoori Lounge Plus Bar Indian Cuisine offers a warm atmosphere, flavorful dishes, and a welcoming environment. The combination of good food, a cozy setting, and friendly hospitality—along with the added benefit of a bar—makes it a great place for dinner or small celebrations. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable dining experience with a wide range of Indian dishes.
I was in the mood for some indian food, and I saw the 4.8 star rating for this place and came by. It was fairly busy in there, and there are a few staff members at the back of the store running orders. One of the guys sees me, asks me if it’s togo, I say no just me and he sits me in a corner table. I guess I should have sat in the other chair with better visibility because I was sat for more than 5 mins before I realized I didn’t have a waiter? I noticed a couple got sat and immediately got the waitress in the restaurant, so I figured the guys forgot me. I flagged them down and as one of them was walking to me he pointed to me and to the waitress to tell her I was sat. It seems like they all kind of share tables, and if it were any of the guys who decided to be my waiter I probably wouldn’t even need to write a review.
So she comes over to me and doesn’t greet me, sets a plate and glass of water down and stares down at me (??). I then tell her what I wanted and she leaves. I should have set a timer, because it took more than 25 minutes for me to get my food, whereas that couple she sat after me got theirs in less than ten, a set of 4 people got ALL their food at once within in the next 10, another couple was sat and got their food a little after I did (i mean their big plate of chicken came out in like 10 mins or less, no joke).
I have a feeling the only way that could have happened was if she intentionally put in my order significantly later than everyone else. Even so, she didn’t come by again. The guys were running around with their handheld payment processors, so I ended paying with one of them.
Now the food. I’m pretty sure (and I could be wrong) I didn’t get what I ordered. I order Korma at indian restaurants a lot, and it comes out usually off-white. This dish I got was orange, like tikka masala. I mean, it tasted fine, but I agree with other’s that the food is very bland. It did not taste like Korma either. The strongest flavor I got was from the rosemary on my naan. Also, the naan was burnt quite a bit. Despite these things, I still rated the food 4 stars because they were veeerryy generous with the amount of lamb.
All this to say, I won’t be coming back. I mean, I was in the middle of ordering Tarka on my phone after contemplating getting up and leaving 3 times in this whole ordeal. (I wish I had, I ended up paying double what I woulda gotten at Tarka, where I would have had more flavorful food and better service)
I also lost my appetite from frustration so I needed to take it “togo” in the end
We tried pina colada and spicy Indian Margherita
Food was average!
Egg fried rice was bad !! And Mutton biryani was just good!
Giving 5 star because of the service
As they gave rasmalai as complimentary when we said fried rice was bad!
