I visited the Honey Baked Ham in Douglasville (7421 Douglas Blvd, Store #1511), and my experience was deeply disappointing and concerning. When I arrived, there were three customers ahead of me and only one cashier working. Another employee came in to pick up his paycheck, and the cashier completely stopped assisting customers to have a personal conversation. I overheard her say, “The staff didn’t prep yesterday for today… they screwed us,” which was very unprofessional to hear as a customer.
I continued waiting patiently. Eventually, another employee opened a second register and helped the customer in front of me. I remained next in line. The original cashier never returned, and as more people entered the store, the cashier named Cody came out. Instead of acknowledging me—clearly the next customer—he immediately assisted a couple who had just walked in.
I politely stepped forward and let him know that I was next. He refused to look at me or respond. I spoke up again, and he continued to ignore me while assisting the couple as if I wasn’t standing there. Other customers behind me apologized, and even the couple he was helping apologized because they thought I was already being taken care of. They were shocked to see me being overlooked.
A woman who appeared to be a manager came out. When I began explaining what happened, she dismissed my concerns by simply saying, “There’s only one line; you’ll be next,” without acknowledging the behavior or addressing the issue.
What troubled me most is how quickly I was dismissed and ignored — especially when I was the only customer who was not acknowledged at all. The way I was treated felt discriminatory, and that feeling is something no customer should ever experience. I remained patient and respectful throughout my visit, yet I was treated as though I was invisible.
This is the closest location to my home, but after this encounter, I will not be returning. I truly hope Honey Baked Ham addresses this, not just for me, but to ensure no one else feels disrespected or discriminated against when simply trying to purchase food.
