The dinner was excellent. We all had a different entrees and my dish was the Salmon. The potatoes and beans were seasoned and cooked perfectly.
I believe our waiter was Corey. I asked for a card, clicked on a QR codecand comments mentioned that name. If that was him, he was very attentive but not hovering. He timed his rounds well.
Overall, the atmosphere and vibe was very inviting and we would come back.
The only drawback is the bathroom. One backed up urinal and one toilet for the size of that restaurant is not enough.
First, the good: Our server, Doug, was friendly and personable, and was working so hard to keep all of his tables happy…an impossible task given the bad to follow. He greeted us promptly, and was as attentive as possible. The restaurant was voted “Best View 2025” which I imagine is spectacular if it were not heavy fog. Sadly, we won’t experience that view since we will not return.
Now the bad: the kitchen was clearly in the weeds immediately at our 6:30 reservation. We were seated immediately, but it took 20 mins just for a few small pieces of bread, another 10 for the appetizer. We ordered the bisque, but it was sold out by 7pm so we had to switch to the clam chowder. The chowder was nice and thick with uniform size dices of potato and clams. We also ordered the calamari which was exactly what we expected. Now came the long wait of forty minutes before our main dishes arrived. Let me repeat that…forty minutes. My plate arrived looking like a toddler plated…slopped together with severely overcooked salmon and shrimp, and raw scallops. Every item was cold. Every item was under seasoned except the mashed potatoes, which were lukewarm. My dining partner’s main was just as bad. We did not eat the mains after tasting a few bites. Meanwhile, all around us, other guests were fed up, complaining, asking questions, and leaving…seems all were disappointed.
Overall, this was the worst dining we’ve experienced in fifteen years. Absolutely atrocious. We felt terrible for all the servers having to deal with upset guests because of this fiasco. Such a shame.
1/23/26 Don’t bother sharing additional information with the auto response link the chain provides….the information apparently means nothing as you will not receive a response. What a shame that the restaurant group does not actually consider reviews as worthy of response.
From the moment we sat down to leaving, the service was great.
We started with the crab & artichoke dip. It was perfect.
My wife had prime rib, which she said was about the best she’s ever had. I ordered the artichoke & crab stuffed Mahi Mahi, which was very good. Both came with mashed potatoes, also very good.
Our waiter told us up front that the kitchen was running behind, so our food took a little while to come.
We decided to pass on dessert because we were full, when our waiter presented us with a dish of cream brulee, with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on a plate. Very nice.
We would definitely come back here for a special occasion.
The food was excellent — beautifully prepared and full of flavor. What truly made the night special, though, was the view overlooking downtown Tacoma. It was absolutely stunning and added a memorable touch to an already special evening.
Overall, a fantastic dining experience and well worth it for a special occasion.
And it’s now owned by Landry’s. An upscale fine dinning company.
Saturday my husband and I had a reservation for 6:45pm to celebrate being newly weds, (just got married the day before). We were seated shortly after we checked in. Our server was great, very kind, provided recommendations when I expressed I was having a hard time deciding what to get. Ultimately I ordered the Crab stuffed Mahi Mahi, substituted the mashed potatoes with the Lobster Mac & Cheese, and ordered Crab & Béarnaise on the side. My husband ordered the 16oz ribeye and substituted the mashed potatoes with fingerling potatoes, and ordered a garlic type butter on top of the ribeye. Our entrees arrived and we noticed my Crab & Béarnaise sauce was missing. We then noticed an extra sauce on top of my husbands ribeye, we thought maybe we forgot about the sauce in the description, didn’t think anything of it and my husband took a bite. We realized it was my Crab & Béarnaise on top of his steak. My husband has a shellfish allergy, which is why he did not order ANY shellfish. Luckily he was only severely itchy and super congested, but had no breathing issues/ wheezing etc, thank god. We told them mistake and they asked if they could make us a replacement, we said yes of course. His replacement was incorrect as well, they gave him mashed potatoes instead of his fingerling potatoes. Not wanting to cause more of a fuss we didn’t say anything and he finished his Ribeye. We just wanted to enjoy our first night/ date as a married couple. They brought us a lovely crème brûlée with “congrats” written on the plate, very cute and very yummy. We got the check and we see that we were not charged for the first ribeye that was wrong, but we were fully charged for the replacement. I thought it should’ve been fully compensated but whatever, fine. I paid $200 cash so I’d be able to leave a cash tip for our server since the entire time they were lovely, but we got the change back and it was wrong, i received $25 total no coin change… I was shorted $3 and some change. Yes it was only a few bucks, but at this point we’re at 3 mistakes so I was very frustrated. We walked to the front and I asked for the manager, I tell her the short version of what I previously typed and she said she’d fix it. She ended up giving us $59 in total, comping us more. I told her I appreciated her fixing it even more than I asked. There’s clearly a kitchen issue, especially on high volume nights, per other reviews also. We have always heard amazing things about this place over the years, so having this be our first experience, we were pretty disappointed, and we most likely won’t come back. But we appreciate it being fixed more so after the fact, and the manager still being nice and professional after we met with her.
