Earlier that day, we had done a quick Google search and flagged a few nearby spots. Tacos sounded good, but being from California and spending a lot of time in Mexico, we are always a little skeptical about Mexican food outside of those places. Expectations were cautiously optimistic.
When we arrived, there was a line out the door. It was a beautiful Sunday around lunchtime, but still, we had never waited 20 plus minutes to be seated anywhere in Costa Rica before. That alone felt like a sign we should stick it out. And we are very glad we did.
Once seated, we scanned the menu via QR code and it was immediately clear that tacos were the move. The torta was tempting, but seeing authentic looking pastor meat sealed the deal. Anna and I both ordered pastor tacos, and wow. They were absolutely incredible. Juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The kind of tacos that make you pause mid bite and look at each other like, okay, this is legit.
Everything about the experience felt dialed in. The food came out hot and fast, the flavors were spot on, and like many places in Costa Rica, you pay at the counter when you are finished. Easy and casual.
We cannot recommend Tacopedia highly enough. This is easily one of our favorite food stops in Costa Rica, full stop. If you are anywhere near Sabana and even remotely in the mood for tacos, do not miss this place. We will absolutely be back.

Fresh Guacamole and chips, Birria tacos that were out of this world, and pollo tacos with more guacamole and pico de gallo. Would recommend in an instant!
Also, their menu inside is via QR code and they take credit card so very easy to navigate!
Very colorful, fun decor, and enough people inside eating at all times.
Highly recommend!
Anyway, atmosphere was good, service was good, and so was the food.
The only thing I would suggest is beware of the parking mafia outside the restaurant. As with a lot of places in Costa Rica, there are people directing you to park when you don’t really need their assistance, but they expect a small tip as you depart. It’s a gig economy
