We had a great experience at Boil Seafood House. My husband ordered a seafood boil and absolutely loved it everything was seasoned really well and full of flavor.

I don’t eat seafood, but they were kind enough to make me a boil-style bowl without the seafood, and honestly… it was really, really good. The seasoning was on point and didn’t feel like an afterthought at all. I really appreciated them accommodating that.

Our kids had the fried shrimp and they loved it too which says a lot because kids don’t fake food reviews

Overall, the food was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. Definitely a spot we’d recommend and would happily eat at again! (Ps we been here twice within the same week in July 2025) lol

food was decent, plenty of flavor in the boil. oysters were fresh enough but not the best, the shrimp was lacking though and almost not edible. Service was alittle slow but since they were packed I can’t be to harsh on that.

After learning that New Orleans produces the 2nd largest seafood in the entire US, we recalled that seafood buckets seem to have originated from Louisiana. Since it was our last day in Louisiana, we decided to splurge on some seafood this afternoon.

We decided to try the Seafood Boil from Boil Seafood because it is one of the first few searches that comes up for “seafood boil” and was actually recommended for Seafood Boils in New Orleans.

Once inside, we were given a seat by the window and our staff came over to introduce the menu to us. We zoomed in on the Seafood Buckets and decided on the House Seafood Boil that includes 1 lb of shrimp, 1 lb of crawfish, snow crab legs, a sausage, 2 potatoes and 2 corns – for $60 USD.

We also chose the Boil House sauce that its a combination of Cajun, Caribbean and Garlic Butter. Probably the best choice in the house. As for the “heat” or spicy level, we chose medium which we think would be easy for us. Turns out the medium was quite spicy (even for SG standards) but SUPER delicious!

The portion of the bucket was HUGE! There were ALOT of shrimps and alot of crawfish inside. We actually took over an hour to peel all the shrimps, crawfish and crab. Also, the shrimps and crawfish were really fresh as well. Succulent with the crunch that you’d expect. But the crab was not so good – a little soft on the meat texture but still firm enough for us to extract entire legs to be consumed in one large mouthful.

One trick you need to learn is how to eat the crawfish…

We were in town with some co-workers and wanted to try seafood boil. The service was so friendly (thanks Shawn!) and the appetizers (alligator bites, Bayou rolls, oysters) were all too notch and super reasonably priced compared to downtown. We got a mixture of seafood for the table and left with full bellies and great memories!

This has been some of the best food since arriving in New Orleans. If you’re looking for quality food, do not stay in the central business district; venture out. We found this in the Garden District, tucked off on Magazine Street. The staff was very friendly and navigated through the menu very well. The food was exceptional. Great flavors. Calamari was crispy and well-seasoned. The gumbo was like no other; it had a traditional feel. The child oysters made me a believer, as I usually eat mine raw. And lastly, the seafood boil was something to rave about. Flavor in every bite, tender, juicy. A definite recommendation and a return visit.

The seafood boil and service here was amazing! Despite having no reservation, they quickly made space for our group of 8. Jackie was our server and she was absolutely killer! She tended to us the entire time, even sharing jokes and suggesting menu items. I had the crawfish dressed in their house boil sauce; it was amazing! I will definitely be coming back here. Thank you Jackie!

The service was great, we didn’t have to ask our waitress for anything. The food came out at a very reasonable time. Personally the food just wasn’t good to me; from the sauce to the seafood itself, just didn’t like it. I went with my mom, daughter, and sister they didnt really like their food either ‍♀️charged her card $25 and mine $22 dollars (gratuity) which was also crazy to me lol. The oysters were a 10/10 though. Would I go back ? No lol just because I just didn’t like the food.

I wanted 2 try blue crabs recently because I never really had any b4. Wat I mean is I had sum (very little) n gumbo but never like a whole crab. Anyway after sum searching me & bae decided 2 check this place out.
I’ve included some pics & videos; loved the bathroom mural, beer can urinal, just the whole atmosphere; swamp bayou very Louisiana & proud of it.
When you 1st go in & wait 2b seated there’s a sign that tells you gratituity is added & I thought it was quite high if memory serves correct like 15%- could be wrong as this is my recollection.
I understand it’s 2 ensure the waiter & waitress get paid so I’m not tripping.
As a matter of fact we added like 2% extra making it like 17% to the total bill.
Just giving a through review plus I don’t want u 2b shocked r something.
Not sure if that’s typical just putting it out there
Our waiter was very attentive anything we asked he got 4 us.
He even offered me a drink 2-go which was really nice of him
& b4 u say drinks (coke) r typically cheap- its the thought that counts
I can’t remember his name but I would like 2 thank him 4 serving us.
I got 2 open the crab 4 the 1st time & the meat was good just not as flavorful as I would have thought. But just think about it, how can u possibly season a crab properly with the hard shell. Plus There’s alot of digging u have 2 do just 2 get 2 the meat tho. Seems like there’s more shell than anything.
We had 2 in this order & they were HUGE well 2 me at least
There was sausage it was ok not very flavorful
I didn’t want the class r mussels bae ate tho.
Corn & potatoes were ok but not much seasoning (flavor)
The sauce (garlic butter if memory serves me correctly) however was VERY seasoned and salty & I tried to use it to flavor the other items (the corn, potatoes, crab & shrimp) but it was 2 much.
Speaking of shrimp, I loooovee shrimp.
They were kinda cool/cold/ room temperature maybe & it was alittle difficult to remove the shell from the meat. I’m thinking it was overcooked or reheated.
The shrimp (in the platter) also wasn’t flavored
THAT was disappointing.
Oh bae ordered the shrimp pasta I think ooo that was sooo delicious but not very much n the way of shrimp that was alittle disappointing. That shrimp was warm & flavored 2 perfection. I love love loved the shrimp pasta.
Out of everything I would get the shrimp pasta & maybe a couple blue crabs as a side dish honestly & would recommend that choice 4 every1.
Other than that we had a great time & would visit again.
I really think u should give them a try!

As tourists visiting New Orleans for the first time—and first-time crawfish eaters—our experience at Boil Seafood House on Magazine Street was unforgettable thanks to Jackie. She took the time to walk us through the menu, patiently answered all of our questions, and even put on gloves to show us exactly how to eat crawfish. Her warm, welcoming personality made us feel right at home. Out of all the restaurants we visited on our trip, Jackie was by far the most outstanding waitress we had. If you’re looking for delicious food and exceptional service, go see Jackie at The Boil House—you won’t regret it!
