The shabu-shabu is excellent, but I was pleasantly surprised to see duck (soup or spicy marinated) as an option. It tastes just like a specialty restaurant. All the side dishes are also wonderful.

We have just been passing this place for years and finally we wanted to try as this is one of the few places near Pleasant Hill that we haven’t been to. As expected, it tastes great. This looks like another branch of Gom Shabu Shabu. We have tried the other branches. They have generous servings and the sauce is also fantastic. Would have been nice if we got one of the private rooms. Maybe next time we can go earlier to avail of one so I can give 5 stars.

Amazing staff. We went there when they were about to close and they served us and made sure we were taken care of. They were very accommodating with seafood allergies when we informed them. Most Asian/ethnic restaurants don’t usually care and brush it off but these people were very understanding. The portions are generous with plenty of veggies and meats to choose from. The only thing I’d wish was better was a better sauce bar but otherwise would come back again.

I’ve been to Gom Shabu Shabu since it first open. The owner is very sweet and kind. The restaurant is very cozy and family friendly. The food is simply and tasty. I love the secret peanut sauce. I highly recommend. I do come and visit once or twice a week.

Went there last night with my girlfriend
1) The older lady came to us looking annoyed and tired, mind you there were only 2 other people in the restaurant. The first thing she said was they close at 9, it was 7:30 when we arrived.
2) My gf and I were looking at one side of the 2 sided menu and she started to ask a question and the woman rudely flipped the menu over and told us to only order from that side.
I told my gf let’s go and we went up the street to Volcano and had a great date.

Had lunch at Gom Shabu Shabu – a spicy noodle & tonkatsu combo. the cold noodle is insanely good, and fruity&refresh. The tonkatsu sauce was really thick and flavorful, 10/10 recommend for your special lunch time

I’ve passed this place many times but this is my first time coming in and trying the hotpot. It was so good!! The broth was simple but was able to compliment any of the meats and veggies. She allowed us to pick the spice level of our sauce, and it was amazing. I had to ask for more because it was so delicious. It wasn’t busy when we came in (on a Saturday afternoon) and we got a plate of assorted veggies and soybeans. We where able to eat almost right away! I will be back to eat here again.
