Our visit to Daily News Restaurant was an unforgettable culinary highlight of our trip. As Montreal natives, we’re no strangers to great food—despite our city’s endless construction and sea of orange cones—and this place truly exceeded our high expectations.
We enjoyed a complete dining experience, savoring perfectly prepared filet mignon, tender chicken, exquisite gnocchi, a delightful soup, and three outstanding cakes. Every dish was exceptional, leaving us speechless and already planning a return visit before our vacation ends.
The food was outstanding, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. We can’t recommend Daily News highly enough and will be telling everyone back home about this gem!

I think I found my favorite restaurant. What amazing food, fantastic ambience, and overall vibe. Very nice owners. Don’t judge this place by the outside (It kinda looks breakfast like), but it is an amazing and beautiful (inside) restaurant. Fantastic lunch and dinner menus and food. Fish, steak, pasta, Etc. I’m convinced there is nothing you could order that would be bad, And the wide variety of selections is fantastic. I’ve been twice in one week. Photos below of lunch items Bolognese and fried haddock with homemade coleslaw. Tried to upload a short video of the inside, but I can’t figure out how to load it.

We enjoyed a nice Saturday lunch there. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy feeling, great atmosphere, and we had great service. The food was very good. The owner, Celine (I think) in particular, was an absolute delight. She came to greet us and made sure we had a nice time. We spoke about my birthday and at the end of the meal, I was surprised with a lovely birthday cake. (We had a good laugh about the name on the plate “Victoria” – inside joke). I will definitely be back to try more of the food.

Very Elegant Atmosphere. The Food was Outstanding. Everything was made to perfection. The staff was amazing! The prices are reasonable for the portions. This is a must dine in Pinellas County. Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, special events, parties, date night. You will be amazed!

What a lovely place to have dinner! This restaurant was so nice and the meal was amazing! Our waitress was excellent and very attentive. The owner made our delicious dessert and brought it out to us at the end of the meal and checked on us!! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!! So worth it!

Seven of us went and shared a number of the appetizers which were all very good – octopus, carpaccio, burrata, gouda, calamari. I thought my lamb chops were just fine but some of the party were disappointed in their entrees, particularly the lobster ravioli. Service and ambiance was fine for Clearwater. I liked the table for eight is a square which makes conversation easier for that size if party. I thought it was good overall and would come back again if I were in the neighborhood.

Went for a birthday dinner with minimal expectations. We wanted something homey and laid back. This is exactly what we got.
The restaurants vibe was very nice and not pretentious. Menu was simple and we enjoyed 2 perfectly cooked steaks and a very nice brucetta appetizer. The even surprised my wife with a nice birthday cake slice.
What I really enjoyed about this place is that it wasn’t some sellout chain restaurant. You can tell it’s run by someone who enjoys running it. No over the top dishes, flashy decor, or over priced food. Just good vibes. We will be back.

We came on NYE and made an early reservation since we had places to go after dinner. Atmosphere was nice and service was good up until the end of the meal. We came for a 50th birthday party and I guess there must have been another group waiting for our table. The waiter never inquired if we wanted dessert and was trying to rush us out of the restaurant. Then who I think was the owner (woman with a NYE type hat on) kept coming over and rushing us as well. Honestly the food was 50% fair and 50% great. The Carbonara was inedible, the Duck special was bad/dry, Cacio de Pepe wasn’t balanced & the Zuppa di Mare was dangerous with the amount of shells in the broth (I assume they were shells). The Beef Bourguignon special and Salmon were delicious. We ordered 3 desserts but they only brought two but we didn’t say anything because it was clear we were no longer welcome at the table. The tiramisu was fair and I’m not even sure what the other dessert was but we left half of it which tells me it wasn’t great.
It was a decent meal but not sure we’d come back as I don’t like to be rushed and they really put a damper on a 50th birthday rushing us. We didn’t dilly dally during our meal, we all arrived on time, ordered in a timely manner it & it seemed more like a reservation issue not allowing enough time between seatings.

My husband and I just returned from dinner at the Daily News and it was excellent as always. The chicken marsala as well as the ahi tuna was the best! This restaurant should NOT be missed. They have an extensive menu and wine list to choose from. Treat yourself to quality food in a quiet classy atmosphere!
