After reading quite a few reviews, and seeing one other Thai place in town was closed for now, I thought to give this place a try. We drove there for dinner, so it was dark out. The parking lot as we approached was so dark, we almost missed the turn into the lot. It didn’t seem like a single lot light was on. Thankfully, the restaurant has a large bright sign to act as a lighthouse.

Upon entering, the lady in the back was very friendly, and said to sit wherever. I believe she was the owner based on other photo’s I’ve seen. The place was decorated, and not plain walls like you find at some strip mall asian restaurants. So it was a nice change of pace. I thought it odd that the menu was under a glass cover on the table. But I suppose that makes it easier for the staff, both in not needing to bring menus to and from, or keep them clean, but with the glass, cleanup is easier.

There is a large assortment of Chinese and Thai items on the menu. Which gives you plenty to chose from. I ordered Combo #7, and my friend had the Pad Thai. He LOVES spicy, and when the waiter said they season on the hot side, he picked 4 (from 1 to 5), and he said it was plenty spicy. He usually likes things ‘Thai Hot’ or 5. So this says something. His only complaint was the ratio of chicken to noodle. But he confessed that Pad Thai is a noodle dish, and the chicken is an adder. He enjoyed his plate. My plate was the Combo #7 with breaded white meat chicken pieces, fried shrimp, a spring roll and fried rice. The chicken comes with this pink sauce, which in my opinion is akin to a fry sauce. Nothing overly asian about it, but it wasn’t bad. The chicken to my enjoyment was cooked well. It was juicy, and tender, and was real chicken meat, and not pulverized chicken like a nugget. The breading wasn’t overbearing, just enough. Same with the shrimp. The spring roll was pretty basic. Not a lot of flavor, but wasn’t bad. The fried rice is I think my only real complaint, but this goes on par with the rest of my dish. When I get a fried rice, I’m expecting color to show how much spice and seasoning has been added. This was basically white rice that was fried a little with a few added veggies. The rice was cooked well. Not dry, or overdone, and not undercooked or stiff. That said, I wish they added much more ginger, or garlic, onion powder… something. It wasn’t bad… just not special.

Overall that was my experience. The food was good, but average. Not bad, just middle of the road. If you wanted to introduce someone to asian, this would be a good place to start before stepping them up to the heavily seasoned locations.

I might try them again, and try a different dish. Maybe it was just what I ordered. As I said… there is a lot to chose from. Maybe their chef is better at other dishes.

Otherwise, the Jasmin tea was great, the staff was very friendly, and it was a nice place.
