Our server, Abby, was phenomenal! We had a table of 6 with an assortment of meals. The crab cakes were thin but tasty. The fried green tomatoes were excellent as was the dinner salad. I highly recommend the Chesapeake House.

You must visit this restaurant in Myrtle Beach! It is located on the water where you will see turtles and gators from the dining area. Their food is excellent, not to mention their freshly served cinnamon rolls and hushpuppies which are given to your table upon arrival. They also give everyone a sample of their homemade fishermen stew, provided you are a lover of fish in your soup. Their fried green tomatoes were the best I have ever had. Their tarter sauce is also the best I have had. I am usually not a fan of gator but it was more tender than a chicken nugget and very flavorful. All of our meals were great and we had the best server who was very attentive. You can also purchase a bag of their secret hushpuppy recipe mix. Additionally, they had a wonderful coconut salt scrub in the bathroom that we sampled and ended up purchasing a mason jar of it as it left our hands super soft and smelled delightful!

Love this place, family owned & Longtime gem on the Grandstand. Great food, great service, great view overlooking a beautiful pond & fountain. I’ve never had a bad meal, always delicious. Bread basket has the delicious hush puppies and serves complimentary fish stew. I ordered some surf & turf this time, & it was excellent. Our waitress Abby was great informative & kept our drinks full. I highly recommend The Chesapeake House, it’s a complete win. I would make reservations as it can get very busy especially in the summertime. The only negative is that they close down in the month of January to give the staff a break. Other than that 5 stars…

Food was plentiful, service was great…but honestly I didn’t like anything on my classic seafood platter. It was ehhh. Again service and location was on point!

Food was good. Server was terrific …but having a roach crawl out from under the table and run across the table at the end of dinner kind of ruined the entire experience.

The cinnamon rolls and hush puppies make this place unique and worthwhile. We were instantly seated on a Sunday evening. There are cool fish tanks within a nice atmosphere. I got the Pesto Salmon, which I thought was relatively good. It’s something that I believe I could make myself, and I am not a hardcore cook. However, I do like that it comes with fish soup and a salad—each of which were pretty good. I think I would get something else next time.

Best thing was the cinnamon roll. Peel and eat shrimp were overcooked and tough. My wife had a salmon spinach salad. Said it was ok. I started with a house salad covered with stale croutons. For dinner I had what was supposed to be broiled flounder, it absolutely wasn’t flounder. Was two pieces?? of what looked and tasted like a reheated piece of some white fish. Wrong shape, wrong texture tasteless. Waitress was very lovely. Waited way too long for our food and then it comes out it’s barely warm?!? I couldn’t melt a pat of butter on it. The place was basically empty so what? Go somewhere else.

This was our first time eating here with friends and everyone seemed to enjoy their food.
The service was just okay and our waiter Jeffrey may have been new but, the service with the drinks was slow. Understanding that, I’m aware that he only puts the drink order in and gas to wait for them however, once the drinks did come, I had the easiest drink to make (cola) and the soda was NOT delivered AFTER the other drinks arrived. It was a SODA and he forgot to order it. The food was good, Jeffery’s attitude was great and overall we had a good time. I would go back again after the holidays and would recommend this restaurant. I ordered the clam strips which I haven’t had since I was a kid (I’m 69) and they were great! The clam chowder was the best I’ve had ever. I don’t know of any other restaurant that has clam strips in Myrtle Beach.
Have a Happy New Year!

Great restaurant. They have been here forever and there are several reasons why… Staff is welcoming, friendly, and engaging. I ordered food to-go. Clam strips and fries were delicious and the portion size was very generous and it was piping hot. Hushpuppies with honey butter and cinnamon rolls were an added treat. You must try these! Will definitely patronize again. Thank you for a great meal. Five stars!!!
