In fact, I refuse to plan flights down there on Sundays or Mondays… because they’re closed those days. It’s that good.
Hands down, this is the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I’ve brought several fellow pilots with me on different trips, and every single one of them agrees — it’s exceptional.
There’s something special about flying into Los Alamos, tying down the plane, and knowing this meal is waiting just a few minutes away. If you’re anywhere within flying distance (or driving distance!), make the trip.
Muy Salsas isn’t just a great local restaurant — it’s a destination!
My wife and I enjoyed our Chiliquiles this morning. Verdes and Borrachos. The borrachos will wake you up. Very Spicy.
The Cafe de Olla (Mexican coffee) was delicious. The papa’s Mexicans also good.
The owners came out to chat with us for a bit. Really nice people. We definitely Recommend this place. Ivan our server was really atentive. Real Mexican food. Is not that expensive either. We’ll be back for dinner.

Queso fundido- excellent texture.
Nopal- mind you a staple vegetable in our home state of SanLuisPotosi. With a mole with a flavor profile and presentation deserving of a Michelin Star. Not kidding

Nice touch with blue maize tortillas. Excellent flavor.
Cris , one of the owner oriented us with the salsas with a salsa tour. We had Spanish and Italian friends, so, it was warranted.

When it comes to dinner plates, my favorite is the Ribeye con Mole. While I think the rib eye itself may be on the under season side, the mole helps pop the flavor of the steak. The Tuetano is also a great dish where dipping the beef fajita into the bone marrow gives a great succulent flavor. Mar Y Tierra Molcajete is a perfect dish to share when you want to sample the different flavors of meats. Queso Fundido with chorizo is an excellent appetizer of ooey gooey cheese that is melded in harmony with chorizo.
The restaurant itself is cleanly and the atmosphere is bright and lovely. At times whether it be the rush hour of taco Tuesday or them being under staffed, the service can be slow at times. However, in general the service is excellent.
This is by far my favorite restaurant in town for both lunch and dinner and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a delicious meal.
Atmosphere is pretty cool, looks like they remodeled interior and young vibe here and there but..
Food review..
Corn on the cob was super salty it made my skin hurt.
Taco pork meat was very greasy but hotsauce and veggies was covering it up pretty good.
Their tortilla is okay..
Maybe I’ll try different ones next time and will update review when I do.
Second visit and again was very satisfied with the service and food. Had a steamed cauliflower appetizer as a meal and was pleasantly surprised. This place has been consistently good, the food always tasty and the staff very very pleasant.
I knew my suspicions were not all that wrong; we came back, and we had the Tampiqueña (a dish that comes with skirt steak, guacamole, red enchiladas, and pinto beans) and asada tacos… we were not disappointed at all. The red sauce in the enchiladas was just perfect, and the steak was cooked just right. The blue corn tortillas for the tacos and the salsa that came with them were just the perfect combination. The only disappointment was the use of the Mexican mix cheese instead of the traditional white (even just mozzarella for the enchiladas like they are done in Mexico), but this I understand is from the American culture. Perhaps update the menu and remove the mention of asadero.
We will definitely be coming back and keep trying the rest of the menu items.
I was super excited to have found this place by accident. As we were walked to our table and seeing the meals on other peoples tables, I liked what I saw. Things got even better when I read the menu, with lots of dishes that I am familiar with, being from Chihuahua.
One that particularly called my attention was el Montado, with ASADERO cheese on it and asada. I went with it, and my friend went with the green enchiladas.
Not sure if the salsa and chips are complementary, but we never got them or got offered them. them while waiting on our food, but I saw that other tables did. Our waiter was hard to get, but I have to say that there were only two servers and the place started to get busy, in their defense.
I was so disappointed; by the time our food came in, the asadero cheese was replaced with the Mexican cheese mix, white and yellow. The owner, being from Chihuahua, should know better. The asada beef seems to have been made on the griddle instead of grilled, making the whole montado super greasy; I ended up just eating 1/3 of the dish. A little side of requeson came with it, a super nice touch and the best part of my dish.
The salsa on the enchiladas was super good, but again, they came with the Mexican cheese mix. Even the beans had it.
Our waiter could have done a better job at staying on top of our table; his appearance could use some improvement. I’m all about wearing shorts whenever I can, but his black shirt had sweat stains all over his belly and back.
The atmosphere of the place is super nice; loved the outside patio, the decorations, the neon signs and the photo opp areas.
Again, I was super excited to finally have found a place with authentic Mexican food, even better, from Chihuahua. It may be that in order to make it in the USA, the recipes need to be modified, but if that is the case, don’t advertise that it will come with some ingredients when they don’t. You can buy bags of asadero cheese or even quesadilla cheese at Walmart in ABQ, or if you go to any of the Mexican grocery stores in Santa Fe or ABQ, you will find the actual asadero cheese, in both presentations, as a tortilla (for montados) or round blocks.
I am willing to come back and try some of the other dishes, like tuetano, enfrijoladas (with the right kind of cheese), and los sopes.
